WrestleMania is known in the world of WWE for making memories. Depending on a fan's age, there are likely huge memories of Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock facing each other three times, or Shawn Michaels reaching his boyhood dream by beating Bret "Hitman" Hart for the WWE title. These are moments that fans never forget.

However, there have been a number of main events in WWE history that many don't remember anymore — and if they do, it is for very different reasons. There are superstars, some who are in the WWE Hall of Fame that fans won't pinpoint as a person who worked the main event of a WrestleMania — even though they closed out the biggest show of the year! Here is a look at 10 wrestlers you forgot appeared in WrestleMania main events.

10 10. MR. WONDERFUL PAUL ORNDORFF

The first WrestleMania created the success story that is Vince McMahon. Thanks to the strong characters of the ultimate babyface Hulk Hogan and the greatest heel in wrestling history in Rowdy Roddy Piper, the main event was a huge selling point. Add in a movie star in Mr. T and a ringside enforcer in Muhammad Ali, and there is a lot to remember.

It seems that no one talks about Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, the final piece of that main event puzzle. Hogan was the face of the company, Mr. T brought in mainstream fans and Piper was who people loved to hate. However, Orndorff is who took the pin and kept everyone else looking strong.

9 9. MILLION DOLLAR MAN

Hulk Hogan dominated the main event of the first three WrestleMania events but at WrestleMania IV, it was time for a new face to take the spotlight. In a moment that never happened again, WWE held a tournament to determine a new champion that year and Hulk Hogan battled Andre the Giant for the second year in a row in the middle of the tournament.

Most fans remember this main event as the moment that Macho Man Randy Savage finally won his first WWE world title. Many might remember Hulk Hogan being there to help him win and then celebrating with him after the match. However, the man who took the loss was The Million Dollar Man in his only WrestleMania main event spot, a tournament that Ted DiBiase was originally supposed to win.

8 8. SID VICIOUS

This might shock many WWE fans. Sid Vicious, who went by the names Psycho Sid and Sid Justice in WWE, worked not one, but two WrestleMania main event matches. The first one came at WrestleMania VIII. Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage was for the WWE world title but WWE went with Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice for the main event — a match that ended with a Hogan disqualification win.

Despite critical disdain for that match, the second time that Sid worked the main event of WrestleMania came against Undertaker. It was WrestleMania 13, and while Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold stole the show, it was this 21-minute world title match that was in the main event spot.

7 7. LAWRENCE TAYLOR

WrestleMania XI is considered one of the worst in WWE history. The world title match saw Diesel battle Shawn Michaels and that match focused almost more on Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy in the corner than the enemies who used to be friends. However, it was not the main event.

Instead, the main event saw NFL superstar Lawrence Taylor wrestle Bam Bam Bigelow. It was a perfect wrestler to put against Taylor since Bigelow was a veteran who could cover for LT's weaknesses, but putting this match in the main event spot was puzzling. People remember Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania, but few remember it was the main event of the night.

6 6. BIG SHOW

Big Show was in one of the biggest WrestleMania matches of all-time when it comes to mainstream coverage. He wrestled and lost to Floyd Mayweather. However, that match was not the main event on the show, nor should it have been. However, with that said, Big Show did work the main event at one WrestleMania in his career, although it was a multi-man match.

This occurred at WrestleMania 2000. The match was a four-corners match where the McMahon family were feuding and each member chose someone to represent them. Big Show was with Shane McMahon. The match ended with Vince McMahon turning on The Rock and helping Triple H win the match.

5 5. CHRIS JERICHO

WrestleMania X8 had one of the most famous matches in WWE history when The Rock battled Hollywood Hulk Hogan. This was during the nWo invasion of WWE and there was even a match with Stone Cold battling Scott Hall that took place on the show. Undertaker battled Ric Flair as well.

However, what many fans might not remember is that the main event of WrestleMania X8 was WWE champion Chris Jericho defending his title against Triple H. It was an interesting match with Stephanie McMahon a heel and siding with Jericho against her husband, but Triple H won the title from Jericho to end the show.

4 4. CHRIS BENOIT

Chris Benoit

The reason that many people might not remember the main event from WrestleMania XX is that WWE refuses to discuss the match. However, at the time, it was probably the most heartwarming end to a WrestleMania in history. Early in the show, Eddie Guerrero beat Kurt Angle to win the WWE Championship.

Then, the main event saw Chris Benoit beat Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a triple-threat match to win the WWE World Championship. It was one of the best triple-threat matches in WWE history and Benoit was the last person expected to win. The show ended with Benoit and Guerero celebrating in the ring together. Sadly, Benoit's death ruined any happy memories of the wrestler's career.

3 3. EDGE

Edge and John Cena had one of the best feuds in WWE history, the ultimate babyface and the perfect heel — polar opposites. However, despite their amazing feud, they never wrestled in the main event of a WrestleMania. However, at WrestleMania XXIV, the same year that Cena battled Randy Orton and Triple H for the WWE title and Floyd Mayweather beat Big Show, Edge was in the main event.

The match was for the WWE World Championship and Edge battled The Undertaker. It was another notch in Undertaker's then-undefeated WrestleMania streak, and it was a great one with Edge eventually tapping out to Hell's Gate. It was also Edge's only WrestleMania main event appearance.

2 2. THE MIZ

The Miz has overcome a lot of criticism to become one of the top veterans in WWE and he did it by working hard and improving every year since his debut. When WrestleMania XXVII took place, fans legitimately hated The Miz and felt he was not deserving of the WWE Championship he held.

On the same show that Triple H battled Undertaker in a no-holds-barred match, it was actually The Miz vs. John Cena in the main event spot for Miz's WWE title. While many fans argue that this spot was undeserved, there is also the appauling memory that Miz beat John Cena in this match — winning his only WrestleMania main event match.

1 1. SETH ROLLINS

This year, WWE rumors indicate that Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch will main event WrestleMania 35, pushing Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins lower on the card. However, while Lesnar has worked the main event spot before, many fans might forget that Rollins was also in the main event of WrestleMania before.

The reason for forgetting is due to the fact that Rollins was never booked to wrestle the main event of a WrestleMania. It was WrestleMania 31 and the main event was Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. However, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, joined the match, and ended the show as the new WWE World Champion.
