Impact's Bound For Glory took place at the Aberdeen Pavillion in Ottawa, Canada on Sunday night and while the crowd was small, the action was large and exciting as the card was full of crazy high spots and returns to Impact from wrestling stars from around the world and promotions not called Impact Wrestling.
Impact Wrestling may struggle financially and they may not have the big production, stars, and budget a company like WWE does, but what they seem to have are wrestlers dedicated to putting on the best show possible. To their credit, while the show wasn't perfect, the pay-per-view was quite good and full of surprising moments.
Among them was the involvement of Albert El Patron. His return was not a surprise, but his attitude was. He arrived back with Impact near the top of the show to cut a promo and complain that while the company first told him he was amazing, they showed their true colors when they screwed him over while he was away and didn't have his back during his domestic dispute incident. He showed up again in the main event to interfere (in a very confusing way) and helps Eli Drake retain the Impact Global Championship.
Former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs showed up and walked straight over to the announce booth where Josh Matthews and Jeremy Borash both asked him what he was doing there considering he doesn't work for Impact. His response was, "that's what you think" and walked away.
Apparently, Jacobs is now working with Impact, but it' hasn't been confirmed in what role. Is he a writer, an on-screen character/wrestler or an announcer?
Finally, former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Santino Marella was rumored to be backstage at the show and did, in fact, appear in the crowd during the pay-per-view. There is no news as to whether or not Marella's appearance was a one-time thing since the show was in Canada or if he'll be making future appearances.
Marella recently made news for a public dispute he had with Jim Cornette.
