The WWE Hall of Fame is full of names that many wrestling fans don't believe belong there but also has many names missing that fans think are overlooked. Many former WWE superstars have died and never made it into the Hall of Fame before their passing, but others are still alive and waiting to hear their name called.

Of these, some are obvious WWE Hall of Fame talents that will surely make it into enshrinement sooner rather than later. However, others were vitally important in WWE history who may never hear their names called or might end up as one of the many who pass before ever getting the honor. Here is a look at 10 former WWE superstars who deserve to enter the WWE Hall of Fame while they are still alive.

10 BATISTA

There is almost no doubt that when WWE calls out the names for their 2020 WWE Hall of Fame induction class, Batista will be one of the headliners. WWE wanted to put Batista in last year, but he said he was not retired yet and felt he had one more run left in him.

That run ended at WrestleMania 35 where he finally paid back Triple H for all he did for him over his wrestling career. Triple H had never beaten Batista, and Big Dave went out on his back in what he said was the final match of his wrestling career. With Batista officially retired for good, he is a first-ballot Hall of Fame star, a six-time world champion that was one of the faces of WWE during his time on top.

9 THE ROCK

The only reason Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is not in the WWE Hall of Fame is because he might still have a match or two in him. The only other possible reason is that WWE has not found a year where he was available to dedicate a lot of time to the weekend festivities.

However, no WWE superstar deserves the WWE Hall of Fame induction more than The Rock, outside of The Undertaker, who is still somehow wrestling, and John Cena, who still drops in from time to time. The Rock is a 10-time world champion and the biggest name to make the jump from professional wrestling to Hollywood.

8 DEMOLITION

The sad thing is that Demolition is not in the WWE Hall of Fame due to matters that have nothing to do with their accomplishments in the squared circle. Ax and Smash (and for a short time Crush) were considered at first to be a Road Warriors rip-off, but they soon made their names as a fantastic tag team on their own.

Demolition was the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history for two decades before The New Day broke their record. Overall, they held the titles three times. However, Ax and Smash are two of the key names involved in suing WWE for injuries suffered over their careers and openly said they would only do the WWE Hall of Fame for a large sum of money.

7 JBL

It is shocking that JBL is still not in the WWE Hall of Fame. His former partner in the Acolytes is there in Ron Simmons, but the former Farooq was also the first-ever African American world champion. With that said, JBL has the prerequisites to be a WWE Hall of Fame member -- more so than some other recent inductees.

He worked his way through bad gimmicks (New Blackjacks) to become a great tag team wrestler in the Acolytes, where he was a three-time tag team champion. Then, when they broke up, he became the arrogant JBL and became a WWE world champion. Add in the IC, US, European, and Hardcore title reign, and he has done it all.

6 CM PUNK

When it comes to men who burned too many bridges to gain consideration for the WWE Hall of Fame, CM Punk heads that list. At one time, Punk was the biggest name in professional wrestling, and WWE believed in him so much that they put him over John Cena cleanly many times over. He was the best promo man in WWE and one of the best wrestlers to ever step into the ring.

CM Punk was a five-time world champion, six if the ECW title is included. He won the tag team titles, the IC title, and the Money in the Bank twice. His Pipe Bomb is one of the most memorable moments in WWE history. However, he walked out on WWE, make libelous claims on a podcast and has become public enemy number one for WWE since that time.

5 LEX LUGER

Lex Luger has done enough to warrant induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, but most of his success came outside WWE. When he did come to WWE, Vince McMahon wanted him to be the next Hulk Hogan, and he failed miserably. However, there were few stars more prominent in WCW than the Total Package.

He was a two-time world champion and held the United States Championship five times, arguably the best champion in that title's prestigious history. He is also a two time TV champion and three-time tag team champion. There is the controversy surrounding the death of Miss Elizabeth and the arrogance he carried himself with for years might sour some, but he is deserving.

4 CHRIS JERICHO

Chris Jericho might have ruined any chance of a WWE Hall of Fame induction for many years, which is sad since he deserves it. Jericho is now part of AEW and signed a long-term deal with the new company to help them try to build into a force that can compete with WWE on television.

However, before that, he was WWE's most consistent performer. He could reinvent himself every time he came back to the company and did it with flair and success every step of the way. He was the first Undisputed world champion, beating Stone Cold and The Rock in the same night. He is a six-time world champion and held the IC title more times than anyone at nine. Add in five tag title reigns, and he is more than worthy.

3 WILLIAM REGAL

10 Former WWE Superstars Who Need To Make The WWE Hall Of Fame

William Regal is a compelling case. In the ring, he did very little in WWE and was stuck with gimmicks that had nothing to do with his genuine personality for years. However, when allowed to be himself, his star shone brightly. He held four tag team titles, five hardcore titles, the European title four times and the IC title twice. He also won the 2008 King of the Ring.

Moving away from WWE, and Regal was a four-time WCW TV champion. Right now, Regal is working as the general manager of the WWE NXT brand and is doing it as an impartial authority figure, something that works much better than the main roster's heel authority figures. He is on staff, and he deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame.

2 RAVEN

10 Former WWE Superstars Who Need To Make The WWE Hall Of Fame

There are several guys from ECW who deserve to be in the WWE Hall of Fame. Maybe Rob Van Dam deserves it the most based on his success in WWE. Van Dam did beat John Cena for the world title at an event full of ECW fans. However, the man who helped make ECW what it became is Raven, and he is a Hall of Fame star without equal.

He is a genius with one of the best minds in the sport. He lived his character, delivered terrific promos, and was one of the best hardcore wrestlers of all-time. In WWE, he was a 27-time hardcore champion and mastered that match. He was also a two-time ECW world champion and four-time ECW tag team champion.

1 CHRISTIAN

Edge is in the WWE Hall of Fame, and his credentials made him a first-ballot choice. However, his former tag team partner Christian has excellent credentials as well, but no one ever seems to talk about him when it comes to induction.

He was a two-time WWE world champion and also held the ECW title twice. He was a nine-time tag team champion, seven with Edge and once each with Lance Storm and Chris Jericho. He was a four-time IC champion and also held the European, hardcore and light heavyweight title once each. He has done more than enough to be in the WWE Hall of Fame and still stands on the outside looking in.
