The Shield were only together for 19 months before Seth Rollins turned his back on the brothers who had led him to the top of WWE and decided to accept an offer to join The Authority instead.

The trio made their debut at Survivor Series back in 2012 when they attacked Ryback as part of his WWE Championship match with CM Punk. It was then rumoured that Punk and The Shield were working together, but this was later proved untrue since Punk was the one person who was going against The Shield towards the end of 2013.

Even though Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose only worked together for those 19 months, they managed to make a few good enemies while they were together and have continued to have enemies all around WWE even after they split with Roman Reigns becoming one of the most disliked stars in WWE.

This is the first time since 2014 that all three members of The Shield have been face Superstars but even that isn't enough for the following list of stars to change their opinions of these former Shield members.

15 15. Chris Jericho

via wwe.com

Chris Jericho was never really part of The Shield's rise in WWE but he did face off with them a number of times. The interesting fact about Jericho right now would be what his relationship with Seth Rollins is like outside of WWE, since the former United States Champion recently revealed that Rollins' former girlfriend and the woman responsible for breaking up his engagement to Leighla Shultz actually now works for Jericho.

Zahra Schreiber was released by WWE after some touchy Instagram posts were brought to light and Rollins later broke up with Zahra in February 2016. Jericho stated on a recent episode of Talk is Jericho that Zahra now works as the merch girl for Fozzy while they are on tour during his time away from WWE, which can't have gone down well with Rollins, just when he thought his ex was out of his life for good.

14 14. Sheamus

via wwe.fr

When The Shield were first coming through WWE the company was aware that they had to build them up into a feared group that could be considered one of the most dominant in WWE history; which meant that some stars would have to be sacrificed to make them look strong.

Sheamus was hot off a record win over Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania and was seemingly dragged into The Shield's opening storylines which saw him forced to job out to them at WrestleMania XXIX along with Big Show and Randy Orton. Sheamus took a long time to recover from this but even when he finally lifted the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 2015, it was Roman Reigns that popped up and took it away merely days later, allowing him to disappear back into obscurity.

13 13. Kevin Owens

via camelcluthblog.com

Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens may have had a friendship that stretches back more than a decade to their time together in Ring of Honor, but it appears Owens and Ambrose are the ones that have a real dislike of each other.

There were reports during their feud that Owens and Ambrose didn't actually get along and a lot of the mocking that Owens was doing in the ring was real. Owens and Ambrose are great talkers and can put on a real show with words. It must be hard for Ambrose to be joint on the mid-card by another talented talker after so long of holding the place alone, maybe professional jealousy was something that led to this? Both men switched brands at the same time back in April as well, so the duo have actually managed to avoid working together now for quite a while.

12 12. Chris Hero

via wrestlingac.com

Despite what the man who currently portrays Kassius Ohno down in NXT will say in public or as part of interviews, it would be hard for him to not harbour some hatred of the fact that CM Punk requested the former Ring of Honor Champion as a member of The Shield. Of course, the company obviously didn't think he was good enough.

He would then have been forced to watch the trio take the wrestling world by storm for almost two years and know that was an opportunity that was taken away from him. Roman Reigns was the man that Vince and Triple H decided was a much better fit and so Kassius is now trying to find a different route to the main roster which includes a lengthy stay in NXT.

11 11. Billy Gunn

via wwe.com

The New Age Outlaws actually specifically asked for their match with The Shield at WrestleMania XXX because they really wanted to wrestle them before they split two months later. The match was a very one sided squash as The Shield took on the team that also included Kane and ended with the Double Triple Powerbomb.

Following the match, Billy Gunn was seen to be coughing up blood in the ring and was later said to have ruptured a small blood vessel after the impact of the match finish. Billy Gunn has picked up his duties backstage and is the current Head of Creative at SmackDown but he hasn't wrestled on WWE TV now for more than three years after taking that finisher from The Shield back at WrestleMania XXX.

10 10. Sunny

via sportzwiki.com

Sunny has made so many mistakes and so many comments about other wrestlers just for attention over the past few years that it has reached the point where her opinion is no longer valid to the WWE Universe. That being said, she did recently decide that she dislikes Dean Ambrose.

Sunny obviously made a career out of her "girl next door" looks and lack of wrestling ability but she decided to rant on Facebook last year about how she was once a Dean Ambrose fan but now she has seen his hardcore background she doesn't like him anymore. Dean's matches in CZW have seen fans respect him much more because it proves he is willing to do whatever it takes for the business, but it seems that Sunny doesn't actually see it that way.

9 9. Batista

via lpcfnt.blogspot.ca

Batista made his return in 2014 and went on to win the Royal Rumble that year. The only time that the WWE Universe wanted Roman to win the match over Batista so he was then booed out of the building. He was later put into a feud with The Shield and after losing both of the pay-per-view matches he decided not to resign with the company.

It is well-known that Batista hated his last run with WWE and it is unlikely that The Animal will be making his return to the company again anytime soon. It is unknown as to how much The Shield are responsible for this decision or the fact that Batista was frustrated with creative and just didn't like the storylines he was given at the time. Either way, Batista walked away and there is currently no sign of him wanting to return.

8 8. John Cena

via pinterest.com

Even though John Cena and Seth Rollins have had so many matches between them over the past few years that they now have much respect for each other, Cena and Ambrose don't get along backstage. It was reported that Ambrose doesn't agree with much of what Ambrose does backstage and his 'Lunatic' persona.

Cena once mentioned that he likes to surround himself with people who want to go and who will push him and he doesn't see Ambrose as one of these kinds of characters. This could have been where the rumours about Ambrose being lazy and inconsistent could have come from. But either way, there doesn't look like there will be any cute Cena and Ambrose clips on Total Divas in the near future.

7 7. The Undertaker

via wallsofjerichoholic.blogspot.com

The Undertaker only had one real run in with The Shield and that was back in April 2014, the night after WrestleMania XXIX when Taker had walked out as the winner over CM Punk. He then was met by The Shield the following night on Raw and the trio then put The Phenom through the announce table.

The Undertaker was legitimately injured after this ambush and wasn't seen on WWE TV following this until the build up to his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX began. He didn't have any other contact with The Shield on WWE TV afterwards. It was also reported that The Undertaker wasn't impressed that he was losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania a few months ago either and he hasn't been seen on WWE TV since that loss.

6 6. Smith Hart

via youtube.com

The climb to the top is quite a steep one and it was once stated that if you didn't create enemies on your way up there, then you are doing something wrong. Rollins has climbed to the top and remained in and around that point for the past two years, which is why he has attracted so many haters in recent months.

Smith Hart is the brother of Bret Hart and a former wrestler in his own right. But he seems to think that Rollins is a danger to the business as a whole and he doesn't rate him as a professional wrestler. Hart wrote a lengthy rant on his Facebook page after a student at Rollins training school passed away where he blamed Rollins for the tragedy and went on to state that Rollins makes the business look fake while injuring his opponents which is the opposite of his job.

5 5. Brock Lesnar

When Dean Ambrose makes an enemy, he makes sure he makes the best kind of enemy. When he took on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 in what was supposed to be a pretty brutal match for both men, Ambrose told Stone Cold Steve Austin on his podcast that he had a lot of ideas for the match and Brock wasn't interested.

He said that Brock only cared about himself and putting himself over despite the fact that Ambrose cared about the match and wanted to make it one that was memorable. Obviously, these comments could not have gone over well with the Universal Champion, and the duo luckily haven't crossed paths since. This could well be a good thing for Dean at this point and could be one of the reasons he's been kept out of the main title picture on Raw.

4 4. Randy Orton

via wwe.fr

It must be hard for someone who has been the main event player in WWE to be seeing the man who will take his spot in the years to come. But that's no excuse for the fact that Randy Orton and Roman Reigns are not exactly what the WWE Universe would call friends backstage.

The duo can put on a decent match and remain professional when they need to be on WWE TV because it's their job, but when the camera's finish rolling and it' time to go home, that's where the pleasantries end. It could be a clash of egos or it could be that they are too similar to hold down a friendship. Either way, it doesn't seem as though it was the luck of the draw that allowed them to be on separate rosters.

3 3. Ryback

via wwe.com

Ryback doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about many people within WWE and still continues to update a weekly podcast that consists of him ranting about certain issues he had while working for the company.

Ryback was in a match with The Shield at Elimination Chamber back in 2013 and he mentioned that he was supposed to be going over as part of a team with John Cena and Sheamus, until The Shield went to WWE officials and said that they should be winning the match since the company are building them as a team, which was a valid point. Officials agreed with The Shield's opinion was much better and decided to change the outcome of the match, something that it seems Ryback is still annoyed about.

2 2. CM Punk

via wwe.fr

CM Punk was the one who came up with the idea to have The Shield as some sort of security group for him as WWE Champion and pitched the idea of Rollins and Ambrose. but they would be accompanied by Chris Hero instead. Hero is currently working as Kassius Ohno down in NXT, but Vince McMahon and Triple H didn't like the idea of Hero. instead, they wanted to bring in Roman Reigns.

Obviously Punk worked together with Reigns over many months in 2013 but he was always forced to "make Roman look strong" whenever he was in the ring with him, which he mentioned on the Art of Wrestling Podcast as something that began to annoy him after a while. It appears that the people booking Roman managed to make Superstars hate him much more than he ever did.

1 1. Bret Hart

via cagesideseats.com

Bret Hart mostly has a problem with Seth Rollins. He and most of the Hart family have been very vocal about the fact that they think Rollins is a danger in the ring. Rollins' Buckle Bomb manoeuvre was responsible for Sting's neck injury following their match at Night of Champions in 2015, just days after Rollins managed to break John Cena's nose with a knee to the face on Raw.

It perhaps didn't help matters when Finn Balor became another name on that list back at SummerSlam 2016. Bret Hart has updated many comments about Rollins and his in ring ability as well as his thoughts on his Black and Brave Training School on his Twitter page. It is safe to say that there is no love lost between them.
