While The Game has yet to officially retire, there's no doubt that he is coming towards the end of his career, with fewer matches being in his future. Triple H is now focusing on his backstage roles, but that doesn't mean he can't tape up his fists and channel the same character that took him to the top every once in a while.

For the past few years, Triple H has been making sporadic appearances and the majority of his most recent rivals have been while he has worked as a part-time talent. However, he's not let that stop him from putting together some brilliant matches and moments along the way, adding to his legacy.

10 Curtis Axel

That's right, Triple H did once have a feud with Curtis Axel, which is something that most people have likely have forgotten about completely, hence it being the worst of his recent rivalries.

The two men didn't compete for long, only having a very brief storyline that took place on Monday Night Raw over a couple of weeks. But this is how Axel was introduced as a big singles star to the company when he was repackaged, and scoring a few wins over Triple H helped build him up.

9 The Undertaker

Triple H v Undertaker

Triple H and The Undertaker's feud at WrestleMania was iconic, but that isn't what this is. His most recent work against the Deadman took place abroad, with a singles match in Australia at Super ShowDown, and then a dreadful tag team match at Crown Jewel.

These two matches, the DX vs Brothers Of Destruction, in particular, did nothing for either man. It only highlighted their flaws and put a slight dampener on the epic matches they had before, which is a real shame.

8 Roman Reigns

Triple H vs Roman Reigns

This rivalry was just one that fans couldn't get behind which was mainly because the WWE Universe was firmly against Roman Reigns at this point. The two men feuded into WrestleMania 32, providing one of the worst main events in 'Mania history.

For one reason or another, the two men just didn't click together. Had the storyline been stronger or had the fans been more invested, this could have been something special, but it just fell flat in reality.

7 Dean Ambrose

Triple H vs Dean Ambrose

Triple H's storyline with Roman Reigns was a bust, but in the midst of that came a brief rivalry with Dean Ambrose. They feuded for the PPV prior to WrestleMania and it was something that audiences absolutely loved.

It would have made a lot of sense to have put Ambrose into the WrestleMania match as well because people were firmly invested in Dean at this stage. But that didn't happen, yet the brief story between them was excellent, and their match was great.

6 The Shield

Shield v Evolution

Triple H feuding with The Shield created a fantastic couple of dream matches as Evolution battled the Hounds Of Justice over two PPVs. It was a great storyline of two of the best factions of all time competing against each other to prove they were the dominant force.

While Triple H wasn't the driving force behind this as there were so many players involved, he was obviously a huge part of things. The matches were great and the promos were equally as impressive with this rivalry leading to Seth Rollins' huge heel turn to finish it off.

5 Sting

Triple H Sting

This was a dream rivalry that fans never expected they would see in wrestling, but when Sting finally joined WWE this was his first storyline. It started as him trying to take out The Authority and morphed into WWE vs WCW, and it was a lot of fun to navigate through.

A lot of the enjoyment came from the fact that this was a storyline that fans didn't ever prepare for, but the two legends worked well together. The build to WrestleMania was well done, and while Triple H winning their match made no logical sense, the bout itself was still entertaining.

4 Batista

Triple H v Batista

This storyline was a huge deal for both men because it was the final rivalry of Batista's career. This was the dream retirement that Batista wanted and both men brought their very best throughout this one.

Batista attacking Ric Flair started this and made it very aggressive and personal from the start. They had some great promo segments to build their match and while their eventual bout was a little long, the passion and fire were certainly there to make the match impactful.

3 Kurt Angle/Ronda Rousey

HHH v Rousey

The big excitement surrounding Ronda Rousey's debut in WWE and Kurt Angle's in-ring return carried this storyline massively, which fans loved. The build-up was well done for the most part, even if there were a few awkward moments along the way.

However, the match absolutely over-delivered in this one. It was an incredible mixed-tag team match at WrestleMania 34. Despite all the reasons it should have flopped, this was a giant success that rounded out the rivalry really nicely.

2 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins v Triple H

Student vs. Mentor was the story of this particular rivalry, and it's one that worked very well for them. The history these two men had dated all the way back to Seth Rollins becoming NXT Champion, and it all got brought up as Rollins became the Kingslayer.

There was a lot of attention to detail and story put into this one, which made for a really enjoyable experience. Seeing Seth show up and attack Triple H at a Takeover show was something fresh and unique, and the whole angle just built Rollins' star power even higher.

1 Daniel Bryan

Triple H vs Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 30

Without a doubt, the best feud of Triple H's most recent run was against Daniel Bryan. While at points it seemed like WWE was doing everything in its power to keep Bryan down, it ended up turning into a brilliant story of good vs evil.

Bryan as the ultimate underdog fighting against The Authority was just a great storyline and because the fans were so invested, it was easy to connect with. Plus, their big pay-off match at WrestleMania 30 was one of the best opening bouts in the history of the show.
