Triple H is synonymous with a world championship. The Cerebral Assassin became a bonafide main eventer in the Attitude Era, which saw him start his run of winning countless world championships.
Inevitably, Triple H has divided opinion by many as some think he is overrated. However, the Game has 14 world title reigns to his name which is a remarkable achievement. He is a nine-time WWE Champion and a five-time World Heavyweight Champion. Moreover, whilst some of The Game's world title reigns have been magnificent, some have been meaningless.
14 WWE Championship - 2007 (11th Reign)
No Mercy 2007 was a historic night for the WWE Championship. Randy Orton was crowned as the new WWE Champion at the start of the night by Vince McMahon. However, Orton's reign was abrupt as Triple H defeated him in an impromptu match to become an 11-time world champion.
Moreover, the Game retained the WWE Championship in his scheduled match with Umaga but he dropped the title back to Orton in the main event in the Last Man Standing match. It is the only time that the WWE Championship has changed hands three times in a single night.
13 WWF Championship - 1999 (1st Reign)
Triple H's destiny was finally fulfilled on the Raw after SummerSlam 1999 when he defeated Mankind for his first WWF Championship. Shane McMahon was the special referee who crowned Triple H as the new WWF Champion.
Unfortunately, the Game's first taste of WWF Championship gold did not last as long as he expected. Embarrassingly, Vince McMahon ended his reign at just 24 days on an episode of Smackdown in September.
12 Undisputed WWF Championship - 2002 (5th Reign)
In May 2001, Triple H sustained a quad injury which ruled him out of action for eight months. The Game entered the 2002 Royal Rumble match as he had world championship aspirations once more.
Triple H won the Royal Rumble match, thus headlining WrestleMania X8. However, his match with Chris Jericho for the Undisputed WWF Championship was underwhelming. Nonetheless, the Game clinched his first world championship as a face but his reign lasted a month with the resurgent Hulk Hogan winning the title a month later at Backlash.
11 WWF Championship - 2000 (4th Reign)
Triple H and The Rock were head and shoulders above the rest in 2000 with Steve Austin out of the picture. The Game dropped the WWF Championship to The Rock at Backlash but was determined to regain the title at Judgment Day in a 60-minute Iron Man match.
Shawn Michaels oversaw proceedings as the special guest referee. There was plenty of carnage with The Undertaker returning after an eight-month absence. Ultimately, Triple H regained the title, further gaining heat as a top heel. It was another pointless one-month-long reign for the Game which would be his final world championship reign for 21 months with The Rock winning back the gold at King of the Ring.
10 WWF Championship - 1999 (2nd Reign)
Thankfully, Vince McMahon came to his senses and vacated the WWF Championship a few days after he won it from Triple H. Nonetheless, the Game did not have to wait too long for his second WWF Championship. He regained the title in a six-pack challenge at Unforgiven 1999.
Triple H's second WWF Championship reign went according to plan. He scored two huge victories in successful title defenses against his biggest adversaries in The Rock at Rebellion in a cage match and No Mercy against Steve Austin. However, Vince continued to be a thorn in Triple H's side, costing him the WWF Championship at Survivor Series, with Big Show ending The Game's title run at 49 days.
9 WWE World Heavyweight Championship - 2016 (14th Reign)
Triple H and The Authority did everything in their power to ensure that Roman Reigns would no longer be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The deck was stacked against Reigns, who defended his championship at the 2016 Royal Rumble as the first entrant.
The Game won his second Royal Rumble match, and thus became a 14-time world champion, which will most likely be his final world title reign. Triple H reigned supreme for 70 days but he got his comeuppance by dropping the gold back to Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 32.
8 WWE Championship - 2009 (13th Reign)
Triple H struck gold for the 13th time at No Way Out 2009 in the Elimination Chamber match. Despite being WWE Champion for 70 days, it was a mediocre WWE Championship reign for the Cerebral Assassin's lofty standards.
However, it made sense for The Game to win the WWE Championship as he was embroiled in a personal feud with Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton. Unfortunately, they had an awful match at WrestleMania XXV which saw Triple H retain but the Viper put it right by winning the title at Backlash.
7 World Heavyweight Championship - 2005 (10th Reign)
The Game kicked off 2005 with a bang by reaching the landmark of becoming a 10-time world champion. Triple H lastly eliminated Randy Orton in the Elimination Chamber at New Year's Revolution. The Game culminated his feud with Orton by retaining the title at the Royal Rumble.
Nevertheless, Triple H's 10th World Heavyweight Championship run was designed for him to drop the title to Batista. The two former Evolution teammates clashed in the main event of WrestleMania 21 with Batista capturing the championship in a splendid encounter.
6 World Heavyweight Championship - 2002 (6th Reign)
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar departed Raw to join Smackdown in late 2002. It left Raw without a world title thus the World Heavyweight Championship was created in September.
Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff awarded Triple H the title, which made sense to have an established star as the inaugural champion. The Game aligned himself with Ric Flair during this reign but Shawn Michaels ended his reign in the first-ever Elimination Chamber at Survivor Series.
5 World Heavyweight Championship - 2003/2004 (8th Reign)
Armageddon 2003 was a massive night for Evolution. All four members had a stranglehold of the male championships on Raw, further asserting their authority. Triple H's eighth world championship reign saw two successful titles defenses with Shawn Michaels which ended in draws.
However, Triple H was champion for 91 days as Chris Benoit forced The Game to submit to Benoit's Crossface in the main event of WrestleMania XX, which also involved Michaels.
4 World Heavyweight Championship - 2004 (9th Reign)
Randy Orton was kicked out of Evolution after he won the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. The Game made it significantly clear that he wanted to be champion again.
Triple H became a nine-time world champion at Unforgiven. However, controversy arose as Triple H was stripped from the title as Benoit forced Edge to submit whilst Edge pinned Benoit simultaneously in a triple threat title match in November on Raw.
3 WWF Championship - 2000 (3rd Reign)
Triple H's third WWF Championship reign in 2000 was a huge success. The Game and his wife Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley were a power couple as Stephanie held the WWF Women's Championship.
The Game's in-ring prowess was taken to the next level and his brutal matches with Cactus Jack at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out were tremendous. Triple H even walked out of WrestleMania 2000 as WWF Champion. The Rock eventually ended his reign at Backlash.
2 WWE Championship - 2008 (12th Reign)
The dynamics were changing in 2008 when Triple H got drafted from Raw to Smackdown. The Game clinched his 12th WWE Championship from Randy Orton at Backlash. However, it was a refreshing run for the Game, who was a face and feuded with the likes of Edge and Jeff Hardy.
Triple H certainly aided Jeff's ascension to become WWE Champion. Nonetheless, Triple H's 210-day reign as WWE Champion was his longest run with the title. Edge ended his reign at Survivor Series in a brief cameo.
1 World Heavyweight Championship - 2002/2003 (7th Reign)
Triple H ended Shawn Michaels' fairytale reign as World Heavyweight Champion at Armageddon 2002. It kickstarted Triple H's lengthy 280-day reign as champion, which would be dubbed as the "reign of terror."
Many are critical of Triple H's run as champion as many believed he buried the likes of Scott Steiner, Booker T, and Rob Van Dam. However, Triple H's reign of terror gave Raw the stability it needed with an established heel champion like the Game. Evolution was coming to the forefront but Goldberg unceremoniously halted his run at Unforgiven.
