Just about anything becomes a meme nowadays. Memes are to 2018 what storylines are to wrestling, so, because of this, it's no surprise that WWE has become popular meme-making material for fans who choose to educate, entertain and enlighten us with a cool  visual with captions they would like to see go viral.

The internet is an odd place, and in 2018 WWE is too, even more so given the culture of the company, which is heavily influenced by fans who think they can write the show better. It's all in good fun, putting smiles on faces, which is a motto Vince McMahon seems to subscribe to when it comes to entertaining us. Memes surfacing on various forums and groups not only give us a good laugh, but allow us to display more creativity than creative has given us on a weekly basis.

Quite frankly, a lot of these meme makers are doing a pretty good job getting us to tap out from laughter. At times it seems it only pays to keep up with wrestling to be able to have meme material, and with that said, I figured why not create a power list of some of the funniest WWE memes.

22 Cena's Ignored Text

Via Memedroid.com

One of the most unique aspects of the John Cena and Undertaker feud, if you can call it that, was how it was a teased match that wasn't officially set a mere week leading to WrestleMania 34. One of the biggest dream matches still possible to make was an impromptu match that revolves around Cena goading Taker to accept his challenge.

The hilarious part about this meme is it highlights the wide variety of ways Undertaker ignored Cena. Not showing up the week after his challenge, not responding to Cena's remarks about his wife's Instagram post and not showing up at Fastlane, which is very similar to the feeling we've all experience at least once in our lives of being blatantly ignored.

This whole storyline revolved around Taker's big, fat "SEEN" message in reply to Cena's challenge to make history at WrestleMania, where he was apparently too busy to accept and create a marquee match to help sell the event in New Orleans.

The match ended up happening as we know, but Taker's curve game was strong up until the last minute, leaving Big Match John looking like a deer with his head caught in the headlights until Taker responded accordingly.

21 AJ + Styles = AJ Styles

Via TheColi.com

Some memes are funny, some are harsh, some are clever, some are weird and some are a combo of different things. This meme here is very funny and downright clever. Straight to the point with the perfect pictures selected. CM Punk strikes me as somewhat of a deep thinker, the type to resemble the on-screen straightedge leader gimmick he used to help carry Smackdown in 2009 and 2010. Because of this I feel he'd appreciate the brilliance of this meme...

Until the cleverness of the meme wears off and he realizes someone dubbed AJ Lee as Mrs. AJ Styles.

At least the author depicted Punk as being cool with his wife taking the name of a fellow indie wrestler. I don't know, Punk strikes me as the type to take a joke only when he's in a very good mood, but the good thing is we don't need Punk's permission to laugh or add this meme to the collection we already have stored unto our already overcrowded hard drives and phones. I don't know about you, but this meme is worth a share and props.

20 Raw Party Crash

Via Pinterest.com

We've all been to parties that were wild, whether they were in college, thrown by friends or something we held when we felt like having a good time. If you've ever had lots of people over and added fun and booze to the mix, then you certainly find the humor in this meme considering the aftermath of a party generally looks like this.

A bunch of people wasted, some knocked out like how Strowman is on top of a table; some barely moving, trying to get up like Kevin Owens grabbing a hold of the barricade; and some relatively aware of their surroundings, much like Rollins here, wondering what the heck happened.

These are the classic positions of bodies left after a party or during it. Nobody wants to clean up a house that looks like a hardcore fatal-5-way brawl took place in it, which is often what the aftermath of wild parties happen to look like. Maybe the next time you attend a party or throw one you get a laugh out of this meme if you're there long enough to witness carnage similar to that of an all-out wrestling brawl.

19 Crying Dudley Boyz

Via Twitter.com

The origin of this meme comes from the arrival of Enzo and Cass the night after WrestleMania 32, which gave fans a taste of Enzo's verbal assaults that up until that point were only exclusive to NXT. The Dudley Boyz coming from the ring to make their way to the back would find themselves in the line of fire of numerous shots taken at them by Enzo who was the mouth-piece for the debuting tag-team, dubbing himself "Smack Talker Skywalker."

As many would find out, it would be a name well suited for Enzo as he began to verbally assault both Bubba and D-Von by first deeming them so ugly that their tears ran down the back of their heads to avoid their face.

D-Von was told to think twice, which would be 2 more thoughts than he had all day and to "fall back like your hairline," which generated plenty of laughs and buzz online.

Perhaps the funniest line in Enzo's roasting was when he told D-Von, "you wanna play, I'll connect 4 to that dome piece, I got the gift of gab and the gift of jab and I'll put that lazy eye right back to work!" The Jordan crying faces were a nice touch, as the Dudleyz had to feel as emotional as Jordan.

18 Big E As Carlton Clone

Via Memecenter.com

When Big E debuted, many saw a big, strong guy who looked like a body builder, a possible main event star and even championship material. Another thing people saw in Big E was the resemblance of a character far more wacky and dynamic than what Big E would become as a member of New Day — Carlton Banks. Take a look at the similarities between the two, it's like Carton left his nice, comfy home in Bel-Air and decided to become a body builder and a professional wrestler.

I give props to the person who pointed this out and made a meme about it because it's spot on. If only someone on creative decided to reference this just once on air, just once. Just imagine the day New Day breaks up and it comes time for Vince to decide with Big E, it would only take 1 culturally attuned writer who is aware of the show The Fresh Prince to kick this comparison into motion given WWE's desire to embrace popular culture.

17 Lesnar's Dates

Via Forbes.com

We don't have to know what Lesnar's life was like during his NCAA amateur wrestling days, long before he met Sable, to find this meme absolutely hilarious. It's a meme anybody who has been watching wrestling in the last 5 years gets automatically without creating a long pause while you try to guess what the author was getting at when he or she showed you. It's funny to think back to The Beast's high school and college days when he was a Little Lesnar, in age only -surely he was bigger than your average teen back then- but it's comical to see Lesnar in a calm and nerdy light.

It's like seeing the local bully in school having a warm spot for kittens or something.

I'll say this, if Lesnar truly had trouble with the ladies in his youth then maybe that explains the rage he displays in the ring and why, as Heyman says, "he hates people." One thing that's for sure is that no matter how many times this meme generates a legit laughing out loud moment, we can say that he's doing well with the ladies given that he's got Sable to spend time with during his off days.

16 The Chosen One

Via Sportskeeda.com

This has to be one of the funniest memes I've seen in years. Consider this comedic treasure a 2 for 1 piece referencing 2 popular movie lines, all while clowning WWE booking in the process, which never gets old. The brilliance of this meme features the downfall of 3MB's Drew McIntyre where he's depicted laying weirdly and relaxed on the announce table at Survivor Series, much like Rose was when she was being painted by Jack in the classic film Titanic.

It's an odd image to see considering how menacing and stoic Drew was booked when he stepped on the scene in 2009 as a mid-card heel dubbed "The Chosen One" by Vince himself.

He's clearly far from any future world championship status as we can see, something we concluded the minute he was thrown into the jobber stable 3MB. This sets up the clever and funnier second half of the meme that features Obi-Wan Kenobi looking on in disappointment, much like many of us, crying out the famous line said to Anakin who turned into Vader: "You were the chosen one!" It's a line that applies to Drew literally and registers big time to fans who saw his rise and fall.

15 Nakamura Low Blow

Via photostags.com

Besides the hilarious visual of Nakamura making one of his funniest and weirdest faces I think any fan can appreciate the humor in this most recent meme. It was the night of WrestleMania 34, right after Nakamura's loss to AJ Styles. He brings AJ his belt, they embrace each other then BOOM... low blow. AJ goes down like a ton of bricks.

In the weeks leading to their Greatest Royal Rumble match, AJ's grapefruits were subjected to the assault of strong style fists. This trend continued all the way to Backlash 2018 where both guys ended up holding their privates in pain after a double low blow, creating a double count out.

Nakamura's new gimmick is apparently the nut cracker. Now, coming full circle, most of us have a friend who wants a child, but we're using the logic they should be using to determine that's a desire that should stay just that. Friends are hardheaded, so in the event they start developing baby fever... it may just prompt us to pull a Nakamura for their sake.

14 Cena In ICU

Via Memedroid.com

Where do I begin with the viral ICU meme? If there's anything significant to come from Cena's early days on Smackdown during the Ruthless Aggression era, it was his "you can't see me" catchphrase. Almost as iconic as his throwback jerseys and hat was the waving hand in front of his fan to tell opponents and everybody listening he couldn't be seen by the naked eye.

The catchphrase along with Cena himself have been subject to many of memes made by fans who generally come off more creative than WWE's creative team.

Exhibit A, take whoever created the hilariously, clever meme of Cena waking up from surgery where he asks where he's at and is told the ICU, thus showcasing the most fitting situation for such a meme to exist and go viral the way it is. This is an old favorite of mine and something to store in your phone or computer if you want a good laugh. If not to laugh, why not share and inspire the next fan to top the brilliance that is the Cena ICU meme.

13 Single Cash In

Via Ultimatecomiccon.com

Most men have had a crush who either had a boyfriend who we felt didn't deserved her or did deserve her, but we didn't care and wanted her anyway. We waited in the wings for the day we could strike and cash in on the chance to be her man, almost like a briefcase holder who wants to be champ. Obviously the briefcase is the chance and the prize is the girl, which is the perfect analogy in terms of how dating works and us fans can find a way to relate almost any life situation to wrestling.

Much like a Money in The Bank match, there are plenty of contenders after the prize we have our eyes on, so once we are declared the winner with that golden opportunity to cash in: we'll pull a Seth Rollins, walking into the day single and ending in a relationship... if the cash in is successful. If not, we're basically Damien Sandow... and nobody wants to fail. With the growing popularity of the Money in the Bank match this is the type of meme you can share outside your wrestling circles and a person or 2 is bound to get the reference.

12 Troubled Teen To Soccer Mom

Via ultimatecomiccon.com

Ever since Enzo roasted AJ Styles' haircut in 2016, saying his hair was that of a "soccer mom", the IWC exploded with commentary on the insult many deemed hilariously accurate and went as far as to ask why a man as old as Styles would debut with the hairstyle he did in WWE as opposed to a shorter cut that looked more age appropriate.

Styles with a haircut famously associated with a housewife and/or soccer mom as Enzo put it made him the subject of many memes, something even I as a Styles fan understand, given how "sawft" he looks rocking that style. Memes such as Anderson and Gallows' faces photoshopped onto the bodies of kids under Styles dressed in women's clothes poked fun at something some may have noticed long before Enzo mentioned it. If you looked at the TNA version of AJ who was obviously much younger than he is now, you can see the troubled teen hairstyle and get a good laugh out the fact that as an older wrestler the same man chose a hairstyle that resembled the mother of that type of kid. Ironic, isn't it?

11 R-Truth Botch

Via Reddit.com

R-Truth's new gimmick of botching just about everything is a gimmick inspired by Steve Harvey's infamous botched beauty queen winner announcement. Since WWE loves referencing pop culture in just about everything they do, it makes complete sense that they would stick a botching gimmick on a guy who they haven't booked seriously since about 2011. R-Truth did a great job generating laughs with the gimmick similar to the days he used to argue with imaginary fan Lil' Jimmy with new age antics of forgetting match rules like pulling a ladder out in the middle of the 2016 Rumble and interfering in matches while playing Pokemon Go.

Whoever made this holiday card meme did a great job getting people to laugh because this is the exact type of humor WWE needs to monetize via merchandise. I could seriously see people buying greetings cards with botches all over them. I mean, fans bought Booty O's and Truth is just as comical in his role as The New Day, just way less featured. Imagine how funny it would be to get a card like this from your mate on Valentine's Day.

10 PowerPuff Divas

Via Pinterest.com

This is not only funny, but something quite intriguing for young female fans who are perceptive enough to see the resemblance between the Women of Smackdown and popular Cartoon Network show The PowerPuff Girls. It's like the girls knew they were taking this pic with the cartoon in mind. The kinship the women have these days seems to give off a superhero like feeling considering how reliant WWE seems to be on them to not only make WWE history, but a political statement at the same time.

The comparison between the women of Smackdown Live and the PowerPuff Girls is funny since for 2 of them the color schemes match, Naomi wearing a green top and rocking dark hair rather than the multicolored streaks she normal does, Charlotte as a blonde like Bubbles and Becky Lynch with the orange hair. I feel observant memes that point out similarities between wrestlers and pop culture icons and characters are the simplest memes to get since they don't require any wording really, just the mere comparison that triggers a few chuckles upon gazing at the meme showing up on your timeline or inbox.

9 Bryan Loss

Via instapuk.com

Daniel Bryan's superman booking that we're lead to believe is only reserved for guys like Cena and Reigns resulted in a WrestleMania XXX main event win where he conquered Triple H with Stephanie by side, was attacked afterwards, destroyed half way through the triple-threat match, but managed to beat Orton, Batista and an interfering Triple H & Stephanie looking to stop him... while injured. These days Bryan is revered to the point that every match he has should result in the same type of underdog booking.

With Bryan back I expected nothing but clean wins, strong booking and a title match, if not a reign with a month or 2. To my surprise, much like the funny face Punk is making as well placed by the author of the meme... this didn't happen. In fact, a guy WWE proved to have abandoned in Rusev WON in CLEAN fashion against a former WWE Champ and a top guy at that. Who would have thought. Maybe this could be explained by Vince wanting to tap into the unpredictable side a bit more than usual now, which is sure to piss off the IWC, but it's funny to see a meme highlight what I'm sure many are thinking, but pretending not to know.

8 Long Live Triple H

Via i.pinmg.com

Borrowed from the famous line of Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight "Either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain", this reference is applicable to WWE's current booking that's not only random, but lacking in continuity. The author of this meme without a doubt is an old school fan who remembers when kayfabe mattered, booking had rhyme and reason, and fans played along with the show.

The perfect picture was selected to call out this drastic change in WWE, which is downright funny to see made fun of. In late 2017, The Shield, who was missing Reigns due to illness, needed a partner. Fans at a live show waited and were shocked to hear Triple H's music play. Surprising, yes, but logical... not in the least bit. Early that year Triple H had an intense feud with Rollins, so why would he team with him? He's the boss, so he doesn't have to if he didn't want to and the most glaring issue here revolves around the fact that Triple H on TV was last seen heel and Rollins is a face. Them teaming made no sense, broke kayfabe and WWE couldn't even provide a reason for such an event occurring.

7 The Original Spinner

Via Tumblr.com

If you were watching wrestling in 2004 then you remember the glory days of WWE. Eddie Guerrero as WWE Champ, the rise of new heels such as JBL, and toward the end of the year... the introduction of the Spinner U.S Championship.

It was the first of Cena's spinner belts and it was an iconic piece of Smackdown history.

For wrestling fans, this was our spinner before the fidget spinner generated any sort of buzz. If you were like me, you looked long and hard to find the spinner belt in toy stores as a kid or online as an adult wanting to add to your championship collection or have the lone belt in your possession. The meme is funny because people like things that spin for the simple fact it's just cool to look at - remember the craze of spinner rims? Well, in 2018 spinning things apparently are in again, so maybe when younger fans are seen with the finger spinners, twirling them endlessly, older fans such as myself think back to the days when Cena gave us a spinner belt for fans to buy and treat like a turntable for our own amusement.

6 Lesnar Vs Nicholas

Via Deskgram.org

If you already forgot who Nicholas is, I can tell you for starters he didn't dethrone The Beast Brock Lesnar at a house show or anything in the midst of Vince's random booking frenzy. Nicholas was Braun Strowman's mystery partner at WrestleMania 34, winning his debut match for the Raw Tag Team Championships. He's since retired after an illustrious 3 day-career, but enough about his wrestling accolades - Nicholas managed to become a series of memes.

The funniest of the bunch is this one poking fun at the idea of a Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Nicholas.

Given WWE's current shock booking mixed in with just plain bad booking, this is NOT out of the realm of possibility. That's what makes this meme so comical. This makes the kid's record impressive, he's started a streak and we know how Brock handles those. If Vince ever approved such a match I don't think many of us would say we were shocked, Brock did after all fight Stephanie and one legged Zach Gowen before... what's a kid to WWE? Heck, hesitation for making such a match would probably come from not wanting to host it at an event as big as Mania, but outside of that, I can see the marquee reading The Beast vs The Brat for The Universal Championship.

5 CM Bump In The Night

Via Deskgram.org

We've all been there. Watched a scary movie or 2, acted like we weren't disturbed in the least and when it came time to go to bed, we soon find ourselves cutting those lights back on... if we ever dared to turn them off in the first place. We get extra jumpy, much like a babyface who is paranoid about the pending threat or presence of a heel, which we see here in this hilarious meme many of us can relate to, even if we don't admit it.

It's a huge sigh of relief to find out that Jason didn't off our pet and that no robber stole our computer or anything, which would be awful since we would have one less device to admire and share this meme on. This is the type of meme you could share to just about any group with the likelihood of people knowing Punk given his popularity in WWE and the simple caption that doesn't require any deep thinking or you having to ask someone what the heck the author was getting at with the meme.

4 Roman Clinton

Via Dilkurslari.asia

Hillary Clinton and Roman Reigns have a lot in common for those who immediately understood the humor of this meme. Both were ripe to take their rightful places at the top to the expectation of many, Reigns winning the WWE World title at WrestleMania 31 and Hillary winning the presidency in 2016. Neither came true.

Roman Reigns sadly is the Hillary Clinton of WWE, which is the person who takes consistent Ls, as the kids call it these days. Hillary lost her first attempt to be president against Obama, had her emails leaked that caused many to look at her with a side eye, had lower minority voter turnout than expected and lost her most recent and quite possibly last crack at the presidency against Trump, who never held any kind of office.

Sounds a lot like how Reigns' main event babyface run is going, having lost what should have been his career-defining moment at WrestleMania 31, his most recent loss at WrestleMania 34 against The Beast and loss in a rematch against him at The Greatest Royal Rumble. Hillary's face photoshopped on him captures the magnitude of lows The Big Dog experiences.

3 Press F-5

Via Twitter.com

This has to be one of the funniest memes to hit the internet. I don't mean of all Lesnar memes, but of all wrestling memes period. Of course we know wrestlers have lives outside the business and long before lacing a pair of boots they were just like us, but seeing a guy like Lesnar in a suit and tie with the freakish frame he possesses makes you wonder how long before he'd hulk out that suit attempting to maneuver as casually as a normal size man.

The author of this meme certainly accomplished his or her goal of tapping fans out from laughter considering this meme is viral and every bit of clever as it can get with a rare photo of Lesnar in a suit wearing glasses... which is totally opposite of how we view him. If Lesnar is good with computers then this meme is even more funny, which raises the question how many times, if at all, he had to hit that F-5 button? Regardless if he knows a thing about computers or not, I sure know when he hits that F-5 in the ring he controls, alters and deletes any opponent!
