In an interview with Wrestlezone, which you can listen to here (we suggest you do, it's really interesting stuff), DDP discussed David Arquette's notorious WCW World Heavyweight Championship victory. Considering he was the champion at the time, they had to explain to DDP what was going to happen. This is what he said he felt when he found out: "I started laughing. I thought they were f***ing with me. You know? And I went, “So what are we really going to do?” And they said, “Well, we’re going to do this.” I’m going, “Dude, you can’t be serious.”
They then asked him if he thought it was Vince Russo or Eric Bischoff who made the call, to which he said: "I felt, knowing Eric as good as I did back then, that it was Russo’s call. Eric was going along because he didn’t want to stir up any heat with anybody."
