Hulk Hogan has a reputation for being difficult when it comes down to losing matches. Therefore, there are no surprises that he has won a plethora of matches that he should have lost.

There is no denying that Hulk Hogan is one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling history. The Hulkster was the biggest babyface in WWE in the '80s and he was the undisputed face of the company. However, he possesses a lot of power which is why he often gets a huge say in the outcome of his matches.

Hogan is notorious in both WWE and WCW for holding down other talents for his own personal gain, and some failed to recover when they lost matches to Hogan. Nevertheless, controversy seems to follow Hogan, and whilst he is a great asset to the wrestling business, he certainly has been incredibly selfish.

10 Vs. Kevin Nash (Nitro 1/4/99)

Hogan v Nash

January 4, 1999, was a memorable night in the professional wrestling industry. Mick Foley captured the WWE Championship from The Rock on Raw but there was a farcical match on Nitro between Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan for Nash's WCW Championship.

Nash became a babyface, and he had a ton of momentum by ending Goldberg's lengthy unbeaten streak. However, Nash comically fell to the mat after Hogan laid a finger on him, which was known as the "Fingerpoke of Doom." This was farcical and it signaled the death knell for WCW. Nash should have retained but nWo was reformed once again.

9 Vs. Randy Orton (SummerSlam 2006)

Hogan v Orton

Randy Orton was living up to his Legend Killer gimmick, and he already earned big wins over the likes of Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker in his relatively short WWE career by 2006. However, Orton shifted his attentions towards Hulk Hogan, and they clashed at SummerSlam.

This turned out to be Hogan's final match in a WWE ring, and it would have been logical for Orton to add the scalp of The Hulkster to his resume. Ultimately, that failed to materialize with Hogan prevailing in another match that he had no right to win.

8 W/ Brutus Beefcake Vs. Randy Savage & Zeus (SummerSlam 1989)

SummerSlam 89

Hogan was once again the top man after beating his former ally Randy Savage for his second WWE Championship reign at WrestleMania V. Their feud continued into the summer of 1989, and they collided in the main event of SummerSlam in a tag team match.

Hogan teamed up with his good friend Brutus Beefcake, and they collided with the formidable duo of Savage and Zeus. After losing the WWE Title to Hogan at WrestleMania, it would have been logical for Macho Man to gain some revenge by winning this match but Hogan continued his dominance by picking up another significant victory.

7 Vs. Randy Savage (WrestleMania V)

WM 5

Speaking of WrestleMania V, The former Mega Powers, Randy Savage, and Hulk Hogan went toe-to-toe for Savage's WWE Championship. Macho Man excelled as a heel champion, and he was one year strong into his maiden WWE Championship run.

This is actually one of the best matches in Hogan's career, and once again Savage showed why he deserved to be WWE Champion. It was inevitable that The Hulkster would reclaim his throne but Savage retaining the WWE Title would have been sensational.

6 Vs. Vader (SuperBrawl V)

Hulk Hogan v Vader SuperBrawl V

Hulk Hogan defended the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Vader at SuperBrawl V. Vader was in a rich vein of form, and he was more than capable of wrestling the Big Gold Belt away from Hogan.

It was a hard-hitting affair and Vader looked incredibly strong by hardly selling any offense that Hogan had. It's formulaic with Hogan retaining by disqualification, and there was no harm by going in a different direction with Vader getting a significant title reign. However, it was widely reported that Hogan did not want to lose to Vader either.

5 Royal Rumble Match (Royal Rumble 1990)

Hulk Hogan celebrating in the ring

The 1990 Royal Rumble match was jam-packed and it was star-studded with many iconic names in this contest. Hulk Hogan was the reigning WWE Champion, and he entered the Royal Rumble match as the 25th entrant.

Ultimately, Hogan already had enough star power, and whilst the winner did not get a WWE Championship shot at WrestleMania, it was a massive opportunity for someone to get a push up the card. Yet, Hogan won his first of two Royal Rumble matches, whereas someone like Mr. Perfect or The Ultimate Warrior would have benefitted from winning the Rumble.

4 Vs. Shawn Michaels (SummerSlam 2005)

Hogan v Michaels

Hulk Hogan returned to WWE in 2005 after getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and he formed a brief alliance with Shawn Michaels. However, in classic HBK fashion, he turned heel and the two legendary figures collided in a blockbuster affair at SummerSlam.

Sadly, the match failed to live up to the billing as Michaels oversold every time The Hulkster had some offense. It wasn't a great spectacle and fans found it incredibly hard to boo Michaels, who quickly reverted to a babyface. Once again, Hogan was victorious but The Showstopper deserved a memorable win over Hogan.

3 Vs. Triple H (Backlash 2002)

Hogan v Triple H

Hulk Hogan challenged Triple H for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash 2002 after Hogan stole the show at WrestleMania X8 against The Rock. The Game had his own comeback story by clinching the title at the same event from Chris Jericho.

Unfortunately, this high-profile encounter was atrocious, and it was incredibly slow and methodical. The wrong person won as The Game should have continued to remain as Undisputed WWE Champion, but Undertaker interfered and aided Hogan in capturing his sixth and final WWE Championship.

2 Vs. Ric Flair (Halloween Havoc 1994)

Hogan v Flair

Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan's rivalry in WCW was one-way traffic with Hogan prevailing in the major matches against The Nature Boy. Nevertheless, at Halloween Havoc 1994, Flair was hellbent on regaining the WCW World Heavyweight Championship after losing the title to Hogan three months prior at Bash at the Beach.

There was an added caveat in this encounter with the match taking place inside a Steel Cage, and Flair's career was on the line. Mr. T oversaw proceedings as the special guest referee. It was a decent match which Flair should have won to finally get a huge win over Hogan, and with the retirement stipulation in place, it was illogical as Flair was not going to hang up his boots for good.

1 Vs. The Undertaker (This Tuesday In Texas 1991)

Hogan v Undertaker This Tuesday in Texas

One of the most shocking results in 1991 was The Undertaker ending Hulk Hogan's WWE Championship reign at Survivor Series, one year after his debut. The Phenom put his newly won crown on the line in a rematch just six days later at This Tuesday in Texas.

Undertaker was very slow and methodical in this stage of his career, but he had excellent chemistry with Hogan. He was a legitimate threat to Hogan and he could have had a lengthy reign as champion. Unfortunately, Undertaker's maiden WWE Championship reign was short-lived as Hogan reclaimed the gold. There was no need for Hogan to capture the title again, but it ultimately led to the championship being vacated with shenanigans in both title changes.
