WWE has a history of burning bridges with some of its former Superstars, or vice versa of course. Stars like Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior, Bruno Sammartino were all men we fully expected to never be involved with WWE again for as long as they lived. However in all three instances, and many more, bridges were rebuilt against the odds and they returned to their spiritual homes.
The next man fans are fully expecting that to happen with his Hulk Hogan. From The Immortal One's leaked sex tape to the racially charged comments he made about who his daughter can and cannot date, WWE decided to cut ties with arguably the most successful star in their entire history. That hasn't stopped The Hulkster from trying to pry his way back in to the wrestling world though.
The hatchet almost always gets buried eventually and some fans may have been expecting Hogan to return at Raw's 25th anniversary show. According to the man himself though, he will not be on the show. A fan tweeted Hogan saying that they are really hoping to see him on Raw this Monday to which The Hulkster replied 'I will be watching from the beach brother'.
yo Pop I will be watching from the beach brother HH— Hulk Hogan (@HulkHogan) January 17, 2018
For the past six months or so Hogan has made no bones about declaring his hope that he will soon be welcomed back into the WWE Universe. He has asked fans to decide his pro wrestling future, his son said that the only thing stopping him from coming back full time is the schedule, The Young Bucks even hinted that they would have him at ringside for their Wrestle Kingdom match. So far though Hogan is still on the outside looking in.
While almost everyone seems to be able to mend fences with WWE, what Hulk Hogan has said and done may be unforgivable in their eyes in 2018. The Hulkster's comments are known by pretty much all wrestling fans whereas in other eras that would not have been the case. There are more fans than you might imagine who want to see him back in WWE though, but still not enough for them to pull the trigger on a comeback.
