Impact Star Fired For Refusing To Get Squashed

Wrestling is a harsh business, and sometimes getting squashed is something you have to do. So when you refuse to do so, it’s completely understandable if the company you’re working for decides to let you go. According to Dave Meltzer in his latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that’s exactly what has happened to new and upcoming TNA Knockout Hania at their most recent set of TV tapings.

She came into Impact back in the first set of tapings following Bound for Glory, and she’s yet to get a win in the company, but when she was asked to do the job to fellow newcomer Su Yang, she flat out refused. If you ask most top stars in the world of wrestling today (Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman perhaps exceptions), they would have had to put people over they didn’t agree with, but they went ahead and did it anyway because it was best for the product. But it seems that the young Hania put her ego first, and that’s not the way to succeed in the wrestling business.

According to reports, the young lady was sent home from the tapings for refusing to do a 90-second job to Yang. If this kind of attitude continues, it’s very unlikely that she will get many breaks in the wrestling business. We don’t know her reasoning behind not wanting to do the job for Yang (who is also the wife of current WWE performer Rich Swann), whether it just be that she’s also a young performer or a more personal reason, but you have to put your feelings aside and trust the creative team if you want to go anywhere. The team obviously has more immediate plans for Yang as she is scheduled to challenge for the Impact Women’s Championship in the near future. We think that Hania should have been patient, done what she was asked and believed in the team behind her. But as we said, we don’t know all the facts, and if this does become a bigger story we will continue to report on it.

So there you have it guys, Hania sent home from Impact because she refused to be squashed. What do you think? Is she right in refusing to job to a fellow newcomer to Impact? Do you disagree with her? Do you not really care because it’s Impact? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
