Impact star Brian Cage posted a photo with Kenny Omega on Twitter and the tease seems to be them eager for a potential future match.
In the industry of wrestling, there are a number of dream matches that fans would love to see played out. Sting vs. The Undertaker, AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels, even The Young Bucks vs The New Day in either an AEW or WWE ring. Not too many of those dream matches are very likely to ever take place. One that could is a match between Cage and Omega.
While Cage is currently under the employ of Impact Wrestling and Omega is with AEW, the dream match would be labeled Terminator vs. Terminator and it's clear both men have an interest in making it happen. When Cage posted the picture, Omega replied to the photo with a GIF from Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
How is this possible? Cage and Omega were both recently at Lucha Libre AAA's Triplemania Regia. During the event, Omega successfully defended his AAA Mega Championship against Dragon Lee while Cage teamed with Puma King against Taurus and Villano III Jr, Bandito and Flamita, and El Hijo Del Vikingo and Aramis. In other words, these two wrestlers are crossing paths already.
How Does This Match Get Arranged?
Where would it take place? That's a good question that might only be possible to answer if the details of their respective contracts are clearer. It might not be possible to put these two in a ring for a singles match until Cage is part of AEW. There's also no indication the company is interested in hiring him, nor is his contract with Impact coming due.
This will be a possible match to keep an eye on but it could be further down the road.
