Impact Wrestling might actually return to a familiar location in 2018.
For many years, Impact Wrestling used Soundstage 21 at Universal Studios Orlando to tape their shows. As far back as 2004, they started using it as their main location for their shows Fans have essentially renamed the location as the Impact Zone.
Impact Wrestling decided in November to relocate from the United States to Ottawa, Ontario after being in Orlando for a total of 13 years. The move was likely due to the fact that Anthem Sports & Entertainment, which owns Impact Wrestling, is located in Canada.
Now, Impact Wrestling has announced that they’ll be kicking off 2018 at Impact Zone and plan on taping their shows from Jan. 10-15, 2017.

Despite the fact in the past fans were critical of Impact Wrestling for only doing their shows in Orlando, they clearly believe this is a smart move. We think it’s odd that they just left the US and are already back. It’s cool that they’re coming back to Orlando, but why not wait until the middle of next year? They just left.
While Impact Wrestling has told us when the shows will be recording, we'll have to wait and see when they actually get broadcasted on television.
As much as I'm sure Impact Wrestling would love to compete with WWE on Monday nights, their ratings have been plummeting, so maybe they’re trying to draw more interest by moving the show back to Orlando, even though they haven’t been gone very long at all.
The bottom line is that Impact Wrestling lacks the talent= needed to draw viewers. It’s difficult to keep people tuned in after losing guys like Hulk Hogan, Sting, AJ Styles, The Hardy Boyz, Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle, and James Storm over the years. Not to mention the fact that they decided to move on from Jeff Jarrett.
