Impact Wrestling has announced that they will be moving their television program to AXS TV, effective in October.

The wrestling promotion officially announced on Thursday that they have entered into a deal with will see them broadcast their flagship show, Impact, across the AXS TV platform. The move will increase viewership over where they currently air the program (IMPACT Wrestling's official Twitch channel).

"Impact Wrestling is a perfect fit for AXS TV's slate of live sporting events and combat sports content," said Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm. He called the inclusion of Impact, "The newest addition to our growing portfolio of media assets, AXS TV's audience perfectly aligns with our passionate Impact Wrestling fan base." He added that the move will see viewership go way up as AXS has reach to over 50 million homes.

This deal was not terribly hard for Impact to get considering Impact's parent company, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, bought AXS TV. Anthem officially announced that they acquired a majority interest in the company earlier this week.

What Does This Mean For Impact?

This is great news as far as getting Impact viewed by more wrestling fans. That said, it pales in comparison to the TV deals held by the two wrestling giants in the industry: AEW and WWE.

Impact Wrestling will air its show for two hours on AXS starting following the Bound For Glory pay-per-view, which takes place on October 20th in Chicago. Even with the new tv deal in place, it appears the show will continue to stream on Impact's Twitch channel.

Will this make a big difference in terms of drawing new talent and steering fans over from AEW and WWE? Probably not. That said, it's a step in the right direction.
