Out of action for some time with an injury that might have jeopardized his wrestling future, a former WWE Champion appears ready to return to action.

Fans have seen plenty of Sheamus on YouTube and social media. He’s been getting into great shape, perhaps better than he’s ever been. One place he hasn’t been is inside a WWE ring. There were questions about whether or not he’d ever be back inside the squared circle considering he was dealing with concussion issues and a diagnosis of spinal stenosis.

Just after this past WrestleMania, news broke that Sheamus was in bad health. According to a report from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, at the time, the future of Sheamus in WWE was in doubt. His sudden departure forced his tag team partner Cesaro to go it on his own while Sheamus was left to wonder what was next. As recently as a few weeks ago, he told Edge and Christian on their podcast he didn’t know what was to come.

There is good news on that front. Sheamus has been cleared to return to WWE action and is currently waiting for the company to bring him back, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It’s simply a matter of finding the right time and opportunity to do so.

Sheamus Joins a List of Returning WWE Stars

Over the last two weeks, WWE has been bringing back absent stars in abundance. Between Sasha Banks, Rusev, The AOP and others, Sheamus might just be the biggest name to return. And, it will be just in time for the upcoming WWE Draft and WWE’s move to Fox.

Will Sheamus reunite with Cesaro? Will he get a push on his own? All of that is still very much up in the air. For now, it’s just good to hear The Celtic Warrior will be back and wrestling again.
