At this point, rumors of Matt and Jeff Hardy re-signing with WWE have become a bore. In this "New Era" of possibility, WWE continues to rely on nostalgia acts to help push their product. Why allow Kevin Owens - a long-traveled and well-deserving wrestler - to headline WrestleMania when Goldberg can grunt his way to the ring, hug a few kids, and "wrestle" for thirty seconds?
Having The Hardy Boyz take part in a Tag Team Championship match on Sunday would provide that nostalgia junkie with his much needed fix of yesteryear. However, they cannot emerged with the the titles. Of course, this is simply speculation and according to Jeff Hardy, the former WWE Tag Team Champions will not appear at WrestleMania:
In a recent interview with Chuck Carroll of CBS Local Sports, Hardy had the following to say as it pertains to a WWE contract offer:
“No, because you have to go through so much testing and all of that. It’s a long process. But, no. We know some people there and naturally after WrestleMania dies down, maybe a couple of months from now, we’ll see what’s possible. But there is no truth to that whatsoever.”
Is Jeff trying to swerve fans away from the idea in order to provide some sense of "shock value?" Better yet, can Jeff actually pass one of these "tests?"
