The voice of ECW has spoken out against the bloody violence that so many grew to love in the ECW days. Joey Styles exchanged some tweets with fans on Twitter and went to bat for NXT, when a fan told him that wrestling hasn't been good since the early ECW days.

Actually, @TripleH's @WWENXT is very much like Original #ECW without the mindless bloody violence. I love it! https://t.co/wfzInYJ0Om

Is it Joey Styles playing the good company soldier, or does he really feel that way? He responded to another fan saying mindless bloody violence is a good thing.

Really? You wouldn't think so if you destroyed your body and bled twice a week. @WWENXT got it right. Enjoy it. https://t.co/lpWAbJBjdz

I would say Styles really feels this way. Looking back on ECW, while there were many great moments for us to enjoy, there were many things that we would never want to see again. Paul Heyman, the mastermind himself says that he would do a lot of things differently if he ran another company like ECW.

You can see what Styles means in the sense that everybody at NXT is hungry to grow and hone their craft, like many at ECW were. I say if bloody violence is the only thing that appeals to you in wrestling, then you're not really a fan.
