It looks like we're going to have to get more used to a WWE without John Cena. Cena took a rare break at the end of October of last year before an injury three months later saw him miss out on a WrestleMania for the first time in 13 years. And according to PWInsider, the leader of the Cenation is likely to be off WWE programming even more, as he is set to miss SmackDown's first PPV, Backlash in September.

This could become a regular occurrence as with Cena having not been in the title picture like usual, is now focusing on bringing WWE to mainstream, having recently hosted the ESPY awards while his recent FOX show, American Grit has been renewed for a second season.

Only a matter of time before he hosts SNL?
