It's been almost a full year since John Cena wrestled his last match, and one of his most remarkable career streaks is strongly in jeopardy.

Cena has competed in at least one pay-per-view event every year dating back to 2002. That's right. It's been a full 18 years since the 16-time World Champion didn't take part in any of WWE's PPV shows.

But tonight's TLC event in Minneapolis, Minnesota is the final WWE pay-per-view for 2019. So unless Cena makes an unexpected and surprising appearance, his PPV streak will come to an end.

On his Instagram and Twitter pages, however, Cena dropped a couple of cryptic messages that suggest he could very well appear at the Target Center. For starterss, Cena acknowledged the PPV streak:

Then, he had this message to share. Interpret it however you wish.

But Cena always has some fun on his social media page, so you can't always take these messages too seriously. Don't forget that the future Hall of Famer teased an appearance for the Oct. 4 episode of SmackDown Live (the Fox premiere), though he unfortunately failed to show up.

There are currently seven matches on tonight's card, so unless WWE is planning to add any at the last minute, Cena is most certainly not going to compete. The hope is that he would at least appear in a non-wrestling capacity.

Cena's last match took place on the Jan. 14 episode of Raw, a fatal-four way match that also included Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Finn Balor - with the winner earning a Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar. The match was won by Balor, and Cena hasn't wrestled ever since.

Don't Expect Cena To Appear Tonight

It's unlikely that Cena is going to make an unexpected appearance at tonight's show. He's still extremely busy with his movie career, and it's hard to imagine him showing up at TLC for a very minor and non-wrestling role.
