WWE may have announced that John Morrison has re-signed with the company, but they haven't revealed what brand he will return too. While many expect him on the main roster when he does come back, there's no reason to rule out NXT.

Even though Morrison has never competed in NXT, that doesn't mean that he wouldn't join what one of the most exciting rosters in wrestling.

It is an exciting time for fans of Morrison as people have to patiently wait for the former Intercontinental Champion to pop-up once again. But where will he land? In this article, we will give five reasons why it should be the main roster and five why it should be NXT.

10 Main Roster: Unfinished Business

While John Morrison had a very good WWE career (hence the fanfare for his return), there is no doubt he could have achieved more. He is one of the most gifted in-ring performers of his generation, and now he has added strong promo skills to his game, he should be able to bring more to the table.

Morrison came ever so close to breaking into the main event scene permanently just before his initial run with the company ended. Returning to the main roster gives Morrison a chance to prove he is able to make that spot, which is something he deserves.

9 NXT: Something Fresh

On the opposite to the previous point, fans have seen John Morrison on Raw and SmackDown, and they know exactly what to expect. Putting Morrison on NXT would provide something totally fresh out.

Nobody has ever seen Morrison in Full Sail University, and therefore it would be totally new and fresh. This doesn't just add something to NXT as a show, but it adds a new element to Morrison as a character.

Having him feel fresh for longer than he would if he simply returned to Raw or SmackDown isn't a bad thing, and is a major reason for him to join the black and yellow brand.

8 Main Roster: A WrestleMania Moment

Because John Morrison is set to return in the very near future, he is going to be a fresh name just in time for the Road to WrestleMania. While it doesn't guarantee him anything, it does seem likely that he will be given a strong push heading into the show if he joins the main roster.

This means there is a high chance that Morrison will get a major WrestleMania moment. Whether it is a high profile match or being able to do a big spot on the show, it is likely that the opportunity is coming his way.

7 NXT: Bolster The Roster

Even though NXT's roster is absolutely loaded, many casual wrestling fans still don't know many of the names on the show. While hardcore fans might love the work of Keith Lee and Lio Rush, they aren't household names yet.

Someone like John Morrison, on the other hand, is someone that many fans are familiar with. He has had years of exposure on Raw and SmackDown, not to mention other ventures such as IMPACT Wrestling.

NXT is the show that is direct competition with AEW, not Raw or SmackDown, so adding him to the roster won't hurt. Having big marketable names is always a good thing, and that is what Morrison would bring to NXT.

6 Main Roster: Teaming With The Miz

While John Morrison is certainly going to return as a singles wrestler, to begin with, that doesn't mean he has to stay that way forever. During his career, Morrison was involved in an incredibly successful tag team.

Even though newer fans may not have seen it happen, the team of Morrison and The Miz was an incredible one. Starting in WWE's version of ECW, the duo dominated the tag team division and eventually forced a move to the main roster.

They were charismatic on the microphone and fantastic in the ring and fans have always wanted to see it happen again. Putting them together nowadays, with their current characters, would be a fun nod to the past and would strengthen the tag division.

5 NXT: Dream Matches

While the main roster does have some dream matches for John Morrison, such as AJ Styles, there are far more ready and waiting for him in NXT.

Seeing Morrison mix it up with the likes of Finn Balor, Matt Riddle, and Adam Cole is something that fans are desperate to see. Morrison could easily put on some world-class matches with these names, both in NXT and at Takeover events.

This is a big reason why he should return and join Triple H's project because it would create some truly outstanding wrestling matches.

4 Main Roster: Work With His Friends

This is likely going to play a big factor in where John Morrison lands, after all, working with your friends is part of the fun in wrestling. WWE's touring schedule can be incredibly grueling, and therefore you want to be riding around with people who you're close with.

Several of John Morrison's best friends are all currently on the main roster. Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Zack Ryder are some of his closest friends in the business, and getting to work with them would no doubt be appealing to him.

Because of that, there's a great chance that he will end up on one of those shows in order to stick with them and travel the world as a group again.

3 NXT: Getting To Wrestle

Another major reason why John Morrison should be put on NXT is that it will allow him to showcase his main asset: wrestling. While he has improved on the microphone, Morrison is one of the absolute best when it comes to bell to bell action.

Even though the main roster does get chances to shine, that is mainly restricted to PPVs only, whereas NXT lets its talent wrestle lengthy matches every week.

Everyone wants to see Morrison get into the ring and do what he does best upon his return, and therefore NXT is the ideal place for him to do that.

2 Main Roster: Rumble Surprise

If John Morrison is going to return to WWE's main roster, the chances are high that his return moment will come inside the Royal Rumble match. For the return pop alone, WWE should make this moment happen.

It would create an amazing moment during the Rumble, and that would instantly make him appear to be a top star, which is why WWE should consider it.

Morrison was also known for doing innovative things during the Rumble matches, so having him and Kofi duke it out for a creative spot would be fantastic.

1 NXT: Main Event Chances

While there is no reason John Morrison can't join main event on Raw or SmackDown, it is fair to say his chances are far greater in NXT. The black and yellow brand's style just fits Morrison's in-ring style far greater.

Focusing more on the in-ring product rather than over the top personalities, Morrison would no doubt be a huge success at Full Sail. Bringing someone of Morrison's star power to NXT would instantly make him a major name, just as it has done for Finn Balor.

Therefore if Morrison wants the chance to work at the top of the card for main titles, then joining NXT would likely be his wises move.
