Masked Kane is a character that everyone is aware of, yet unmasked Kane provided just as many brilliant moments to WWE, and within this article, we will take a look at why he is better with the mask, as well as an argument for why he's better without it.

10 Masked: Brothers Of Destruction

Whether it was fighting against or fighting with The Undertaker, the incredible storyline between Kane and the Deadman is one of the greatest in the history of professional wrestling.

WWE invested a lot of time and effort creating a deep storyline history between Kane and Undertaker, and that is one of the reasons that fans were able to invest so heavily into both men, despite the supernatural elements.

Their feuds were epic with several major PPV matches against each other, as well as creating one of the most dominant tag teams in WWE history, with masked Kane always having a slightly better connection.

9 Unmasked: Promo Ability

When Kane first arrived in WWE, the company made the decision to keep him quiet, with the silence actually providing plenty of fear as nobody really knew what he was thinking, until WWE added the terrible voicebox to his character.

Eventually, masked Kane began talking but it wasn't until the mask was taken off that he really started to show his abilities on the microphone, with Kane being incredibly underrated when it comes to talking.

Because of the fact, Glen Jacobs is actually an incredibly smart man, his promos would always be logical and lengthy, which somehow made him even scarier.

8 Masked: Royal Rumble Records

When it comes to the Royal Rumble, there have been few wrestlers more dominant than masked Kane in the history of the event, and although the Big Red Monster never actually won, he has made plenty of eliminations.

For years Kane held the record for the most eliminations in one Rumble match, getting rid of 11 different men in the 2001 Royal Rumble, and although that record no longer stands, it is always going to be one of the highest in history.

This just shows how dominant Kane became, with WWE making sure he was protected and taken seriously as a major threat to the main event scene.

7 Unmasked: His ECW Run

WWE's version of ECW is often heavily criticized by wrestling fans as it certainly failed to live up to expectations, however, not everything was a disaster as it gave a platform to several experienced wrestlers to thrive.

The likes of Matt Hardy, Christian, and William Regal were all given good spots on the show to develop themselves, ane Kane was another one of those, with WWE using Kane's experience to help younger talent.

On ECW Kane was really given a chance to prove himself as a main event star that could draw an audience to the show, having a run as ECW Champion and getting to put on some superb matches along the way.

6 Masked: The Mystery

This is strictly for the original run of masked Kane and not any other version because by that point everyone knew when he looked like without it, but the original run provided so many questions for fans that it became so intriguing.

People were desperate to know what Kane looked like and all the teases and storylines regarding the mask were always incredibly interesting, especially with his history of torment and fire.

Fans felt that Kane would be horrifically burnt, and everyone wanted to know, but that mystery is what made his character even more interesting.

5 Unmasked: He Is Comedic

Kane is always considered to be a demonic monster character and when you think of a monster you don't necessarily think of comedy, however, when he ditched the mask he certainly began to show a softer side.

While many don't like the fact that he became less scary, the benefit was that Kane started to provide some incredibly comedic moments, with Glen Jacobs having fantastic timing for comedy and dark humor.

WWE may have pushed the boat a little too far at times with this, but because his career was so great the company was able to snap him back to being feared at any given moment.

4 Masked: Team Hell No

Speaking of being able to mix comedy and still be taken seriously, Team Hell No was a perfect example of this, as Kane and Daniel Bryan would have the fans laughing hysterically one moment, and then the next they would be putting on a clinic.

Team Hell No is one of the greatest tag teams in modern wrestling, with the two men going from rivals to the best of friends as they helped grow the tag team division massively with a lengthy run as Tag Team Champions.

Kane proved that he could work comedy into his masked character, which helped because fans already knew he was funny from his previous work. Having perfect chemistry with Bryan, the two men created history with a fun team.

3 Unmasked: The Unmasking Aftermath

Anytime you have a character masked for a long period of time there is always going to be talk and hopes that they will eventually unmask, and for Kane, that finally happened in what is still seen as a historic moment in wrestling.

While some people wanted to see him have some form of physical scars, it turned out that Kane's problems were all in his own head, which was clearly highlighted by the run he went on after taking it off.

Kane went around and made his presence known, destroying everyone in his path after he was forced to take the mask off, proving he could be an incredible monster even when showing his face.

2 Masked: His Scary Character

Kane will go down in WWE history as one of the most feared wrestlers of all time, with many fans being genuinely scared of him when he first arrived in the company as nobody had seen anything like him before.

Bursting onto the scene, Kane quickly made his mark by breaking into Hell in a Cell and confronting his brother, The Undertaker, and from then on he proved to be one of the most dominant forces in wrestling.

Kane would take a beating and get back up, with several chair shots not being enough to put him down and that early masked character is one that will never be forgotten.

1 Unmasked: His World Title Run

Despite the fact that Kane is one of WWE's biggest ever names who was very rarely injured and spent his entire career as a prominent talent, he didn't actually have much time as the top World Champion of the company.

His run as WWF Champion only lasted one day during the Attitude Era, however, his biggest run as champion came when he was unmasked and was given a strong spell as the World Heavyweight Champion on SmackDown.

Cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase to claim the prize, Kane went on to have a really good run at the top, feuding against his brother, The Undertaker, for the title.
