Kane (Glenn Jacobs) hasn't wrestled on a full-time basis in WWE for several years now, and his future in the ring has been in question ever since he was elected as the new mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

The Big Red Machine appeared on the Sept. 16 episode of Monday Night Raw in a segment with R-Truth, where he briefly won the 24/7 Championship. However, the latter managed to win it back later on in the show.

Obviously, Jacobs is going to find it difficult in making time for WWE while he's in office. Such is life when you enter a career in politics. But does that mean we'll never see the future Hall of Famer in the ring again?

Jacobs talked to Brian Fritz of Sporting News and suggested that his tenure with WWE isn't over just yet. He didn't provide an update on when we could see him again, but the former World Champion doesn't consider himself retired at this stage.

"I think, with WWE, I don't know if you ever really retire from it all the way, especially folks that are lucky enough to get in the position that I'm in," Jacobs said. "You can always do stuff and they can find creative ways to use you. That's one of the things I really look forward to. When people ask me if I'm looking forward to getting back in the ring, I'm like, 'eh, I don't know what I'd be doing, but I'm sure at some point I'll do something.'"

Vince McMahon obviously has a lot of respect to Kane, who's been loyal to the business for over two decades. Surely, McMahon will always keep the door open for Kane to appear in some capacity - even if he's not wrestling.

But even before he entered a career in politics, Kane was only taking part in the odd match. He was mainly used to help put younger talents over - namely Seth Rollins in 2015 and Braun Strowman (the next great "big man" in WWE) in 2018.

It's A Matter Of When, Not If

Judging by Kane's words, it's safe to say that it's merely a matter of when we'll see him back in WWE, not if. But whether or not he'll actually wrestle again remains to be seen. He can always just appear in a non-wrestling capacity, which other legends like Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley and Edge have done.
