While Glenn Jacobs already had a few WWE PPV matches under his belt from his time working as Isaac Yankem, it wasn't until he took on the persona of Kane that people began to truly care about his work. As the Big Red Machine, Kane was built up as one of the dominant monsters of the company.

Kane was pushed heavily when he first came into the company, being positioned as a seemingly unstoppable star. Because of that, his first 10 WWE PPVs were a lot of fun as he was placed into big matches against other top talents, but what was his best match?

10 Kane vs. Vader (In Your House 22: Over The Edge, 1998)

Kane vs. Vader (In Your House 22: Over The Edge, 1998)

This was a mask vs. mask match that was done to continue establishing Kane, giving him a big moment against a rival. However, the match itself was a poor one, with the two men seemingly going through the motions here.

Something didn't quite click on this encounter and it felt like an average Raw match rather than a top PPV encounter. It was slow-paced and lacked in real moves to get things going, which was a shame as they're capable of better.

9 Kane vs. The Undertaker (WWE In Your House: Judgment Day, 1998)

Kane vs. The Undertaker (WWE In Your House: Judgment Day, 1998)

This was another match that simply wasn't good enough for two top stars. Kane and The Undertaker have gone to battle numerous times, but this is one of the weakest of their matches, which wasn't helped by the fact that it ended in a no contest.

The wrestling here wasn't good and was far too slow-paced, with fans being more interested in Steve Austin as the referee than they were in anything else, which was a shame.

8 Kane vs. The Undertaker (Survivor Series, 1998)

Kane vs. The Undertaker (Survivor Series, 1998)

Kane and The Undertaker competed a lot throughout his first year in WWE, but they never quite got going to create a classic match. This was a tournament contest and they only had just over seven minutes to make it work, which was never going to allow them to put on a great match.

It was just too slow throughout the match and the cheap finish of Paul Bearer distracting Kane to allow Undertaker to get the victory also didn't help matters here either.

7 Kane vs. The Undertaker vs. Steve Austin (In Your House 24: Breakdown)

A triple threat for the World Title involving three men as legendary as this should have created a great match. However, this was an overbooked mess in reality as Kane and The Undertaker couldn't pin each other, essentially making this a handicap.

It meant that the match couldn't flow as much as it should've done and while they all tried hard, it just wasn't as free as it should've been. Plus the finish of both brothers pinning Austin only for Vince McMahon to run off with the title left people very disappointed.

6 Kane vs. Mankind (Survivor Series, 1997)

Kane vs. Mankind (Survivor Series, 1997)

This was Kane's first official match in WWE, which was all about pushing the new star as much as possible. He got red mood-lighting and Mankind took some big bumps for him, from being smashed around onto the steel stairs to getting launched through the announce table.

The pacing of this match was very slow, however, it worked well in terms of building Kane up as a top star that people should be scared of. Mankind was the perfect star to bump around for him in what was a fun encounter.

5 Kane vs. Vader (In Your House 20: No Way Out Of Texas, 1998)

Kane vs. Vader (In Your House: No Way Out Of Texas, 1998)

This match had some slow moments that saw the two men going through the motions, but it really picked up as the match went on. Vader threw everything he had at Kane here, from a moonsault to using a fire extinguisher to try blind the monster, but Kane got back up from everything.

By the end of the match, the live crowd was really into everything that was going on, and they were fully behind Vader in wanting him to take out Kane. It added to the match as the atmosphere was so great, and the post-match beatdown was also impressive by Kane.

4 Kane & Mankind vs. Steve Austin & The Undertaker (In Your House 23: Fully Loaded, 1998)

Four huge stars all competing together should have led to an amazing match, but that wasn't really the case here. While the fans went wild for all the action and the stars involved, the contest was a little sluggish.

Things didn't quite click between them all, despite the best efforts of each man involved. They were hard-hitting and it was certainly entertaining, but it didn't get to the levels that it should have done for four men as talented as them.

3 Kane vs. The Undertaker (WrestleMania 14)

Kane and Undertaker

This is one of the most famous matches of Kane's career, with this being the first time he and The Undertaker competed. They would go on to have better matches, but this one still gets talked about the most simply due to the spectacle and storyline at the time.

The match itself was fairly basic with the two big men just working a lot of power moves. However, the fans were invested in the rivalry and it led to this having a truly big fight feel which helped it along.

2 Kane vs. The Undertaker (In Your House 21: Unforgiven, 1998)

Unforgiven IYH

This match was the classic Inferno Match which brought an unbelievable spectacle to the entire situation. It added real intensity to their rivalry and both men worked a great encounter here to make the match entertaining.

While there were obvious limitations as to what could be done due to the fire, they made the most of the fire too, teasing the burn plenty of times which helped. It might not have been the big WrestleMania moment, but this match was actually a lot better in terms of in-ring work.

1 Kane vs. Steve Austin (King Of The Ring, 1998)

Kane's sole WWF title reign in 1998

This PPV is often remembered for Mankind and The Undertaker's Hell In A Cell, but it was actually this First Blood match that headlined the show. Kane and Stone Cold had a tough task following that match, but they did a brilliant job under the circumstances.

The two men brawled with real intensity and brought the best out of each other, with Kane picking up his first World Title here. It was a big moment for him, and with Undertaker and Mankind involved in the mix as well, it led to real carnage in the best manner possible.
