Right now it seems like returns are all the rage in the WWE. Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, and Paige have come back to prominent roles and guys like Chris Jericho and The Rock are often only a phone call away. Even Hulk Hogan and Batista have been rumored to be on the potential short-list of former WWE Superstars who might show up at any given moment. One name that never seems to come up, however, is former UFC and WWE star Ken Shamrock.

And, if you ask Ken Shamrock, he really doesn't understand why.

During an interview with Wrestledelphia Radio's Mark Whited, Shamrock addressed a number of topics from CM Punk to the current state of WWE. When he was asked if the WWE Universe could potentially see him make a surprise return at a show like the Royal Rumble, Shamrock didn't waste his breath shooting down any potential idea of that happening.

Shamrock explained, "I doubt it. I've been saying this for years. I'm not understanding that with everybody that I've seen come back - Kurt Angle, The Rock - how isn't Ken Shamrock there? If anybody makes sense in coming back and doing something with those guys coming back, there is no other better person than myself."

It sounds like Shamrock is somewhat bitter about the fact that Vince McMahon and the WWE don't view him as the type of star who might draw viewers to the program. When Shamrock first appeared in WWE, he was a legitimate UFC and MMA star. Today, he's not much more than a former fighter who hasn't done anything relevant in years. The WWE probably sees that and says to themselves, 'what would he bring?'

That has to sting a bit and it's likely Shamrock could use the work. He's not been in the spotlight for some time.
