The Royal Rumble is this Sunday night and it is one of the most unpredictable 30-man over-the-top-rope matches in recent memory.
The fact that the WWE Universe has no idea who will win the Rumble and book their place in the WrestleMania main event, means that there is still a lot of speculation surrounding the surprise entrants.
Kenny Omega has been signing autographs for fans with the tag #30 as a way to show that he could well still be part of The Rumble. Omega's contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling doesn't expire until two days after The Royal Rumble, and it is thought that this could put a dampener on these plans.
Omega himself has finally spoken out about his inclusion in the match and it seems that his answer has only managed to further speculation about his involvement:
“The most I can say right now, and this may disappoint some people, if some of you guys are subscribers to the Network and you’re looking forward to something happening or not happening on the 29th– I’m not sure if I can pull a rabbit out of the hat by that date. That’s all I can say for now. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. I’m not saying anything, that might be asking too much at this point in time. That’s literally the most news I’ve given anyone up to this point."
It is thought that Omega could make the switch to WWE at any time, but because NJPW is looking to branch out into the west, they really need Omega and he may well decide to stay with the company and help them grow over the next few years. Although Omega did mention that he really wants to face A.J. Styles and that could be his main reason for coming to WWE.
