Most wrestling fans have a favorite as it pertains to AEW and NXT by now, but Kenny Omega wants you to know that it's okay to pick a side. What's not okay, though, is wanting the other to go out of business and he assures that there's no animosity between wrestlers from either side as they all want the best for each other.

Of course, plenty of fans see it that way; they just love having more quality wrestling options. And two on a Wednesday night makes it all the better.

The former NJPW star spoke to Wrestling Observer Radio recently, offering his thoughts on the ratings battle between the two shows plus his take on certain fans thinking the companies are trying to run each other into the ground.

“No, it’s incredible that you’d have someone who [would] choose their favorite, and as soon as they feel threatened that their favorite won’t be considered #1 by all of the public, that they have to react in such a manner where they feel really threatened, and they have to put people down and they have to say mean things," he said.

"They just lash out, and I get it. But like you said, it’s just very preposterous that a fan would make the argument, whose chosen one side over the other. You know, ‘Kenny Omega sucks, and Adam Cole’s the greatest, and I hope that Kenny Omega breaks his neck in the ring’ or whatever. And you know, ‘[I hope] that AEW fails, and he’s out of house and home.’ And I hate to say it, but if Adam Cole’s your favorite wrestler, Adam Cole doesn’t wish that upon me at all. You know? At all.”

Omega admits watching NXT nowadays but is also impressed with Impact Wrestling's product.

“Yeah, again, I started to watch not only NXT, but I’ve been watching some Impact lately too," he revealed. "And all these shows are really good! I liked what NXT’s doing, I like what Impact’s doing. NXT, geez, it’s like — I don’t want to sound derogatory at all, but I can see how they’re winning that demographic of the 50 and over, because they have a very great, solid wrestling product."

You Don't Really Need To Hate One

Of course, every wrestling fan is going to have a favorite promotion but Kenny makes a good point here; everyone's gotta eat.

Wrestlers probably don't want to see wrestlers from other companies without a job and many AEW stars are actually good friends with performers over at NXT. If anything, the competition makes everything better.
