Owens has been playing a face character in recent times for the first time in his WWE career. The fan base has connected with him during his feud against Seth Rollins.

We will look back at the best and worst moments of Owens’ career in WWE. The best feuds showcased why he is such a special talent and how great of a talent he was. Meanwhile, others hurt his momentum with poor booking and weak results. Find out just which past work of KO is worth seeking out and which should be avoided. These are the five best and five worst feuds of Kevin Owens’ WWE career.

10 Best: Dean Ambrose

The rivalry between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose showed the importance of the Intercontinental Championship. Both men put it all on the line with the title switching hands on a few occasions between them from 2015 to 2016.

Owens and Ambrose had their best bout at the 2016 Royal Rumble event in a Last Man Standing match. The innovative use of weapons didn’t come as a surprise to diehard fans of both wrestlers that loved thinking outside of the box.

9 Worst: Kofi Kingston

Kevin Owens returned from an injury in early 2019 as a face despite not having a storyline for WrestleMania. Following a tough moment of not making the card of the biggest show of the year, Owens turned heel a few weeks later on WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

The turn was done well, but it made little impact since Owens didn’t have enough time to develop a strong face run. Kingston and Owens had solid matches, but they weren’t anything special. Owens was forced back into an old role didn’t help him out.

8 Best: Finn Balor

Finn Balor and Kevin Owens have been vocal about their close friendship behind the scenes. It all started during their time working together in NXT. Both wrestlers were hired around the same time and learned the new world of the WWE together.

NXT saw one of their most financially successful feuds with Owens and Balor facing off for the NXT Championship. Balor won the title from Owens during a special moment at a main roster show in Japan. The big rematch main evented the first TakeOver show in a sold-out major venue.

7 Worst: Ryback

The first main roster title run for Kevin Owens came when he defeated Ryback to become Intercontinental Champion. Owens was gaining strong momentum as a heel when entering the feud. There was nothing bad about this, but they didn’t get to do anything special.

The matches were fine with Owens winning gold as the only thing that left an impact on the viewer. WWE ended the feud shortly after the KO win. Ryback started to struggle around this time before eventually walking away from WWE.

6 Best: John Cena

The start of Kevin Owens’ WWE main roster run came in the best way possible. Owens began by attacking John Cena and leaving him laying in the ring. Their first match saw Owens beat Cena cleanly at a time when that rarely happened in WWE.

Owens and Cena had a few more great matches with Cena getting back his victories. It was still enough to establish Owens as an important player in WWE. The ability to step up against the biggest star in the company was huge for his career.

5 Worst: Cesaro

The first feud for Kevin Owens after the John Cena rivalry was against Cesaro. Fans expected great work since both guys were top tier performers. WWE may be to blame for this one as the feud was treated among the least important on the show at the time.

SummerSlam 2015 saw their big match come in the death spot as the match before the main event. Owens won to continue his momentum, but the match didn’t create a long-lasting memory as most fans expected from it.

4 Best: Chris Jericho

The entire storyline between Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho created magical television for WWE. Owens and Jericho became best friends that walked the line between being cowardly heels and extremely entertaining characters.

The eventual heartbreaking turn saw Owens attack Jericho during the infamous Festival of Friendship segment. Owens, unfortunately, lost the Universal Championship to Goldberg before the WrestleMania match with Jericho or it would have been remembered even more fondly.

3 Worst: AJ Styles

Kevin Owens and AJ Styles are considered two of the best wrestlers of the entire generation, but they didn’t have much chemistry together during their WWE matches. 2017 saw Owens and Styles in a lengthy feud from May to September.

Most of their matches disappointed and one even had a botched ending with the wrong person winning. Both wrestlers were better off when the angle finally ended, and they moved on to new opponents. With their new roles on the Raw roster, we can only hope they have better matches this time around.

2 Best: Sami Zayn

The best feud of Kevin Owens’ entire career came against Sami Zayn. Both wrestlers came up together in the industry with many great matches as a tag team on the independent circuit. The eventual break-up saw them working against as singles stars.

WWE would utilize their history for a feud in NXT. Owens attacked Zayn on his first night and defeated to win the NXT Championship. Both men would face off again on the main roster with their best feud yet. Battleground 2016 saw Owens and Zayn have arguably the best match of their respective careers.

1 Worst: Braun Strowman

The worst moments of Kevin Owens’ WWE career all came against Braun Strowman during the summer of 2018. Strowman essentially buried Owens with weeks of segments that made him look like a fool. Owens lost a lot of his momentum and credibility during this chapter of his career.

The only win for Owens in the feud came when he escaped a cage match by having Braun throw him from the top of it and through the commentary table. Owens would get embarrassed with Strowman nearly ruining his career, trapping him in a portable toilet and squashing him at SummerSlam.
