As many of you are aware, WWE superstar Finn Balor hasn't had the main event push since returning from injury in April. The reason? Apparently, Vince McMahon doesn't think The Demon King is "over enough," and scrapped a potential Balor vs. Brock Lesnar match at the Royal Rumble in January.
In response, Balor has spent the last several weeks sharing salty tweets and Instagram posts about not being over. Of course, the posts have been quite humorous, and fellow WWE superstar Kevin Owens decided to join the fun:
As you can see, Owens capitalized "O" and "VER" in those last two words, taking his shot at Vince. Though he didn't reply to Owens' message, Balor did retweet the photo onto his timeline.
When he joined the main event roster last year, Balor instantly received strong cheers from the crowd, and got a strong push from the company. He defeated Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016 to become the very first WWE Universal Champion. Unfortunately, Balor had to relinquish the title after needing shoulder surgery - which kept him out for eight months.
Since his return, Balor has been stuck in the mid-card and has constantly had different feuds - many with stars who aren't quite as developed as he is. Balor has had to see part-timer Brock Lesnar hold onto the title for the past eights months, while Roman Reigns has continued to receive his controversial push to being the next big star.
And even though Balor seems to be over with much of the WWE Universe, he's simply going to have to wait until Vince truly thinks he's ready for a main push. Obviously, McMahon and the creative team have had their fair share of differences with the fans, often refusing to push the main stars that we fans like most (Shinsuke Nakamura can relate to this).
For now, Balor has to accept that he isn't "over enough" in his boss' view.
