Kurt Angle Gives An Update On A Possible WWE Return

With the brand extension that occurred last month and rumors of WWE bringing back old timers, many were hoping Kurt Angle would be one of them. The Olympic Hero was reportedly close to joining following the expiration of his TNA contract only for various setbacks to get in the way.

Angle recently spoke on a possible WWE return as a guest on the Ric Flair Show, stating that there's a chance that he might, but also might not, return to the WWE in a year or two.

"If I go back to WWE it would most likely be the next year or the year after. I did talk with Triple H a few months ago, very loose conversation. They have interest, I have interest. They don’t know what to do with me yet, you know, it was more of a loose conversation. Put it this way, I wouldn’t be surprised if I go back next year and I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t go back at all."

There were reports a while ago that Angle had built some heat with Triple H for going over his head to Vince McMahon when inquiring about a return. He said and and Triple H have since worked past that.

"But it was kind of cool to talk to Triple H and bury the hatchet with the past. We are both on good terms with each other. I reach out to Vince every once in awhile. It’s just good to be able to let the past go behind you and you know, if something does happen, it just feels good to know that I will end my career there. If I don’t, then that’s fine too. The Hall of Fame is important to me, but it wouldn’t kill me if I wasn’t in. You just never know."

At 47 years of age, time keeps on ticking for Angle if he wants an in ring return but at this point, fans would just kill to see him in WWE again no matter what role he takes. What about you?
