Lana has responded to CM Punk's idea for the way WWE should book her storyline going forward and while she's not pleased with Punk's choice of words, she's more concerned with fans who have gotten way out of control, including sending death threats.

Lana is in the midst of one of WWE's biggest storylines and the segments are polarizing for WWE fans to say the least. An angle that includes infidelity and gratuitous references to sex, her character has easily become the most annoying (purposely) on WWE programming. The storyline has led fans, including CM Punk who appeared on a recent episode of WWE Backstage, to come up with ways to end the storyline.

Punk suggested sticking Lana in a shark cage. The match would feature Bobby Lashley and Rusev teaming together versus another team she'd latched onto by then having to take her home when they lose. Punk's joke was that Lana had become so annoying that no one wanted her. He wrote on Twitter, "Loser keeps @LanaWWE match. Just booked you through mania, chica. You’re welcome. @RusevBUL #WWEBackstage"

What was interesting was Lana's response. It wasn't that she had issues with the idea, but that Punk chose to use to word "chica" when referring to Lana. She didn't take kindly to it, suggesting Punk had been away too long and didn't know that terms like "chica" were now misogynistic.

Indirectly related to her back-and-forth with Punk but still in the realm of the way fans have reacted to her new character, Lana has said fans are going way overboard in their reactions, often sending death threats.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Lana explains that the death threats against her have been so bad that the FBI has had to get involved on her behalf.

“I personally have received a lot of death threats. I’ve gotten calls from like WWE and the FBI, people actually threatening WWE. Having death threats on me and the FBI has had to call me and protect me. And I get death threats on my comments on Instagram, on Twitter. I mean, people are bullies. I mean today I opened my email account and I had this death threat on my email.

But it was just like the names that people call are just, it’s just appalling. It’s absolutely appalling.”

Lana Doesn't Deserve This

Fans need to remember, Lana is playing a character. And, even if she weren't, there's really no reason to go so far as to send a threat to harm another individual. Hopefully people can relax and remember that none of this is real.

Lashley is still married and Rusev and Lana are happily married to each other. Punk's idea may have been a funny joke but death threats are certainly no laughing matter.
