Over the past several months, WWE has used Lana in the ring more - and she'll be competing in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match on Sunday in Rosemont, Illinois.
She was used strictly as a manager to real-life husband, Rusev, but Lana teamed up with him in the Mixed Match Challenge and has been used more often as a wrestler. And it looks like she may actually show her improved wrestling skills during the women's MITB match.
On her Twitter page Lana revealed that she was being trained by Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan - who's in a Money in the Bank match of his own against Big Cass.
Lana, of course, hasn't showed a whole lot of ability when it comes to technical wrestling skills. It's worth noting that PWInsider.com reported last month that Lana was extensively working at WWE's Performance Center, which suggests they could be giving her a big push in the near future.
Her first win in WWE actually came at the aforementioned Mixed Match Challenge, when she and Rusev defeated Elias and Bayley. Her first win in a singles match took place on the May 22 edition of SmackDown Live, where Lana defeated Billie Kay. Now that she's training with Bryan and Bella, you have to think WWE at least wants her to look better in the ring - even if they aren't set to give her the big push.
But with Rusev Day sweeping across the WWE Universe and rumors of a big push for The Bulgarian Brute circling, it does make sense to have his wife/manager develop her in-ring skills more as well. That would just push Rusev Day even more if his wife became one of the top female in-ring performers in the WWE.
