If you’ve been doing the math, it’s been 16 months since Paige last stepped foot in a WWE wrestling ring. Over that period of time, we’ve seen WWE’s Anti-Diva get involved in all sorts of controversies. Her wellness Policy suspensions, private photo leaks, public spats with her significant other have dominated headlines in that time. And while we still have no idea as to when exactly she will be making this much-anticipated in-ring return, it’s good to know that the former NXT Women’s Champion and WWE Divas Champion is keeping her fans updated on the progress of her comeback.

According to a report from Wrestling News, Paige is still training for her return to the ring as she works out at the WWE Performance Center to get rid of all that ring rust and get herself back into competitive shape. Interestingly, it appears that she is working closely with several women from NXT, as the Norwich-born second-generation wrestler gave Twitter shout-outs to Mandy Rose, Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, and Ruby Riot, thanking them for their assistance and for “kicking [her] butt these past weeks so far.”

As previously reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the tentative plan is for Paige to return to SmackDown Live, where she could be competing in a division featuring Natalya as its champion, and also facing the likes of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Naomi, and the first-ever Ms. Money in the Bank, Carmella.

RELATED: DETAILS THAT HAVE EMERGED REGARDING ALBERTO DEL RIO AND PAIGE'S RELATIONSHIP

With all these updates rolling in regarding Paige's return to the WWE, we should also mention that things have been quiet for the past several weeks with regards to her controversial relationship with boyfriend Alberto Del Rio. Back in July, she and Del Rio were involved in an ugly incident at the Miami airport, with both sides accused of some form of domestic abuse. Del Rio was suspended indefinitely by Impact Wrestling over the incident, while WWE has yet to take action against Paige.

Hopefully, this peace and quiet in Paige's personal life will continue, as she's too young and talented to be considered washed-up in the world of women's wrestling. Regardless when her in-ring comeback takes place, we hope that it will be a successful one, and that WWE's creative team will find something worthwhile for Paige to do upon her return.
