WWE superstar Roman Reigns has been sidelined the last few weeks with a mumps infection. The illness forced him to miss the TLC pay-per-view event, which saw Kurt Angle replace Reigns as The Shield's third member, also missing Raw the night after.

Well, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com gave a number of updates regarding Reigns' health and condition. Johnson said Reigns has yet to be cleared and will once again miss tonight's Raw as well as WWE's Europen tour next week.

As a result, the WWE re-scheduled a number of their main events. Johnson was also told that they're hoping Reigns will be recovered and cleared in time for Survivor Series, which is three weeks away.

Per Johnson, it's also expected that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will defend the Raw Tag Team Championships in a handful of main events, as an alternative to The Shield's reuniting.

Reigns isn't the only star who has come down with an illness. The bug also hit Bray Wyatt, who had to miss his TLC match with Finn Balor and was subsequently replaced by AJ Styles.

The illness came at a bad time for Reigns, who was slowly building up more favorable reactions from the crowd after he reunited with The Shield. Reigns has been notoriously booed over the last two years despite being pushed by the creative team as the next big babyface of the company.

This has obviously complicated things for the creative team. One would assume that Reigns would be in one of the main events at Survivor Series if healthy, but they're seemingly forced to plan things on the fly until they get an update on whether or not he can compete.

For fans of the Roman Empire, Reigns' return can't come soon enough. The only issue is we don't know when that'll be.
