It is well known that Brock Lesnar is a reclused person outside the squared circle. He has admitted many times that he prefers his privacy and being out of the spotlight once his job is done. Therefore, his book "Death Clutch" which was released in 2011, surprisingly revealed a lot of details about who Brock Lesnar really is.

It is a book which lets fans inside the mind of "The Beast Incarnate" from his thoughts and opinions about his career inside the wrestling industry whilst also revealing details about his time in MMA and his own personal life.

10 He Comes Off Extremely Arrogant

During the whole of the book, Lesnar comes off as very arrogant especially when it comes to the wrestling business. He claimed that whenever he was beaten in the ring it was by pure chance and that the person he was putting over had no right beating him.

It is strange to read that because there have been multiple reports over the years about how much he enjoys putting other guys over and making new stars. However, here he seems self-entitled and looks like he never wants to lose to anyone.

9 He Wanted To Return To WWE After Leaving

After leaving WWE in 2004, Lesnar attempted to become a professional American Football player. However, it didn't pan out as he planned and he suffered an injury which prematurely ended his career.

As a result, he contacted Vince McMahon about a return to WWE but Vince wasn't interested. However, he changed his mind but stated Brock would be on a low salary and would be starting from the bottom, which Brock declined.

8 His Mom Pushed Him To Be A Winner

At the start of the book, Lesnar talks about his upbringing in South Dakota with his parents being dairy farmers. As his parents weren't well off financially, they wanted better for Brock in his life.

Therefore, his mom made sure to instill a winning mentality into her son. Her philosophy was "You don't like to lose? SO DON'T LOSE!" Lesnar soaked in his mom's words quickly as he became a star amateur wrestler in High School.

7 Lesnar Didn't Want To Be A WWE Lifer

It is clear to see from how his career has panned out that Lesnar had many avenues he wanted to explore. However, it is interesting to hear that from such an early age and barely being apart of WWE that he didn't have ambitions of being a lifer for the company.

He stated in the book that he was aware that many older wrestlers had ruined their bodies and minds for going on too long. However, it is ironic now that he has been back in WWE for 8 years and is still wrestling at 43 years of age.

6 He Was Abusing Alcohol And Pain Pills

Many wrestlers back in the day went down the path of abusing alcohol and pain pills to try and ease the pain their bodies were in and to get through matches. Lesnar admitted that he was also one of these wrestlers, stating that "Vodka and Vicodin were my best friends."

He stated that he wasn't the type of person to be living the hectic wrestling lifestyle. Which consisted of travelling every day, moving from hotel to hotel, and constantly being on the move. It took its toll on Brock and he moved towards substance abuse to cope.

Lesnar had tarnished his relationship with WWE during 2004 due to his attitude and lack of respect. This resulted in both parties wanting Lesnar out of the company by any means necessary. He signed a WWE release form without reading it properly and it backfired massively.

4 He Was Furious About Losing To The Rock At A House Show

After his historic victory over The Rock at SummerslamLesnar was scheduled to repay the favor by letting Rock win a non-title house show match in Miami. He states in the book that he was more than happy to repay the favor to The Rock but not when he was champion.

He said it made no sense for him to lose a non-title match as the World Champion as it makes him look weak. He also felt that no matter what, if you beat the champ then you should be the champ. Brock was furious at Vince for lying to him about the whole situation and it was the beginning of the end for his first WWE run.

3 His First Run With WWE Was A Blur

Whilst, Brock talks about some details and backstage stories about his first run with the company, he admits that the majority of that run was a complete blur. As a result, the book reads more as a fact-checker of his career rather than an in-depth autobiography.

Obviously, it is going to be hard for Brock to recall many events during the initial run due to his substance abuse at the time. However, that makes the book a disappointment as the reader barely gets any information about his time in WWE.

2 He Was Very Close To Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig

One of the high points of the books is Lesnar talking about his close relationship with Curt Hennig. He talks about how Curt massively helped him during his early tenure in WWE resulting in them becoming good friends.

Lesnar talks about the various helpful advice that Hennig gave him about the wrestling business and life itself. He also called him a "real character" which makes it even sadder that he passed away so early in 2003.

1 He Is A First Degree Misanthrope

As stated in the intro, Lesnar is a very reserved and reclusive person who prefers to live in solitude and isolation. He stated in his book that he is a first-degree misanthrope, which means he hates human contact/interaction.

He also talked about this on the Stone Cold podcast saying "I don't like people, I wish I could say otherwise but I just don't." This explains why he doesn't give up much information about his private life in this autobiography and in general.
