Legendary Tag Team To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

The WWE has announced that the legendary team of The Fabulous Freebirds will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year in Dallas, the city where the group made their mark.

This was perhaps the longest overdue team to get into the HOF, as the group remains a strong influence on tag teams today. Michael “P.S.” Hayes, Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy and Buddy “Jack” Roberts had a legendary feud with the Von Erichs in the Texas territory.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Hayes said: "Well, I don't know what the rush was," he laughs. "Every year around this time, I'd be on pins and needles, hoping we'd get in, because our career speaks for itself. We put asses in seats…and I think you could take a poll of anybody who ever paid their hard-earned money to come see us, and they'd say they got more than their money's worth. And that was huge to us, because we were wrestling fans too."

Congratulations to the Freebirds on a long overdue induction. The Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on April 2nd.
