Everybody loves huge power moves, fancy flips off the top rope, or an incredible finisher, but in wrestling, there is nothing more effective and devastating than a good old-fashioned low blow. One of the reasons that a low blow is so impactful is because people actually have experience with how that feels, understanding the pain. Because of that, whenever one happens in WWE, the fans are sure to react.

While using a low blow is a major heel trick that fans hate to see, it is something that WWE has used effectively in the past, and within this article, we will take a look back at the 10 most iconic low blows in history.

10 Taming The Beast

Throughout his career, Brock Lesnar has been the victim of countless low blows, with many wrestlers finding the move effective in taming the Beast and taking him down with any means necessary.

However, one wrestler that nobody expected to see hit a low blow was The Undertaker, but the fact that The Phenom had to resort to low blows during their SummerSlam feud was a sign of just how dominant Lesnar had become. Even the legendary Undertaker didn't have another response other than to go downstairs against Lesnar, doing anything in his power to get the job done.

9 King Of Low Blows

When it was announced that AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura would be colliding at WrestleMania 34 the WWE Universe was incredibly excited about seeing two of the very best wrestlers in the world competing.

Their match at WrestleKingdom had got the world talking in New Japan Pro Wrestling, with their one and only bout being considered one of the best matches in history, and this match was certainly a fun one. The two 'friends' battled back and forth with AJ coming out on top and it seemed like the two men were showing respect after it until Nakamura shocked the world and took out his friend, turning heel on the grandest stage of them all with a huge low blow.

8 Love Killer

Another iconic low blow that happened to take place at WrestleMania saw Zack Ryder be the victim of the dastardly move, with Eve Torres being the person to deliver it, bringing an end to Ryder's hopes of a relationship with her in the process.

During the build-up to WrestleMania XXVIII, Ryder and Torres had been back and forth with the Broski clearly wanting to be more than just friends, but on the grandest stage of them all, Eve opted to embarrass Ryder. It all took place during the Team Teddy Long vs Team John Laurinaitis match, which played a key part in helping the heel team pick up the victory.

7 The Boss Makes His Mark

While low blows typically take place between WWE Superstars, it isn't uncommon to see a non-wrestler opt to use the unpopular tactic to make their point heard as it is something that's incredibly effective.

Vince McMahon himself opted to use this move in order to take down Roman Reigns, making his feelings towards the Big Dog crystal clear during an episode of Monday Night Raw. The WWE Chairman himself swung his leg up high and sent Reigns to the mat, showing that regardless of age differences, a low blow is always going to cause a problem.

6 Beast Slayer

As we mentioned earlier in this list, low blows have become commonplace in feuds against Brock Lesnar, with wrestlers finding it one of the only effective ways of neutralizing the Beast as WWE books him so strongly.

Seth Rollins named himself the Beastslayer this year and that nickname is certainly one that has stuck, but the manner in which he took down the former Universal Champion on both occasions that he beat him saw Rollins utilize the low blow. However, instead of being booed for doing so, Rollins managed to get the move over with fans who instead decided to cheer his decision to use the move.

5 Daniel Bryan Earns The WWE Title

Seth Rollins isn't the only person in history to use a low blow in order to become a champion, with Daniel Bryan also doing the same thing, with AJ Styles once again falling victim to the move, as he has many times in his WWE career. Bryan's low blow came out of nowhere, with the popular wrestler turning heel randomly, showing his desperation to become champion, hitting a low blow mid-match while the official wasn't looking, following it up with the Running Knee to get the win.

This decision kickstarted one of the best runs of Daniel Bryan's career as he dominated the SmackDown landscape until KofiMania started running wild.

4 Chyna Betrays DX

One of the most iconic low blows in wrestling came on an episode of Monday Night Raw when Chyna betrayed Triple H and D-Generation X and made the shocking decision to join The Corporation.

It was certainly not something that anybody saw coming when Triple H and Kane began squaring off, with Chyna coming from behind and taking him down with a low blow, joining the heel faction in the process. Not only was the move to join The Corporation a massive surprise, but so was the manner which she did it, with Chyna never being someone to attack an opponent from behind until this point.

3 Melina Makes Her Feelings Known

Mick Foley and Melina have a very unique bond, with the Hardcore Legend being one of the only people who was loyal and remained friends with Melina during her controversial months in the locker room.

WWE decided to bring this friendship on screen as well, with the two forming a surprising friendship in front of the WWE Universe and eventually it all boiled down to a segment involving Vince McMahon. Mick volunteered to join the Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club in order to save Melina's job, but in the end, the WWE Diva opted to turn on her saviour with a low blow instead.

2 Styling And Profiling

When it comes to low blows in wrestling, there is only one man that comes to mind and that is the dirtiest player in the game, Ric Flair, with the Nature Boy making the move a staple of his move set.

Flair is the only wrestler in history who has been able to get away with doing this move and making it seem cool, with wrestling fans appreciating that it was simply just part of the package when it came to the Hall Of Famer. Flair didn't bust out the low blow once in his career, he just did it countless times throughout matches as a cheap trick when the officials weren't watching.

1 A Hero No More

At WrestleMania 19 Chris Jericho got the opportunity to compete against his hero and idol, Shawn Michaels in what was a dream match for many, with the two putting on a clinic inside the ring. The Heartbreak Kid and Lionheart when back and forth, move for move as they attempted to steal the show, but it was what happened after the match was over that had people talking for weeks afterwards.

With Jericho and Michaels looking to show respect to each other, hugging and seemingly ending things in a positive fashion, Jericho opted to make his true feelings known as he took out HBK with a huge low blow.
