SmackDown is set to move to Tuesday nights, starting July 19th and will air live every Tuesday at 8/7 C on the USA Network. On top of the move, SmackDown will also have its own unique roster, meaning the brand split is back.
“WWE’s flagship programs will both leverage the incredible depth of our talent roster, distinct storylines and the unpredictable nature of live TV,” said Vince McMahon. “This move will undoubtedly build more excitement and deepen engagement with our fans around the world."
This move means there will be a WWE Superstar draft at some point in the coming months. With the WWE claiming to embark on the "New Era" this will give a chance for many underused talents to shine. It also means SmackDown will no longer be just a B-show, and may be a resurgence for the show.
