Just because WWE's 2017 has come to an end doesn't mean that everything that happened during the calendar year came to an abrupt end and all of the angles had a neat little bow tied on top of them so that we can move on to new things. As we all know by now the pro wrestling train never stops. There aren't seasons or off periods and just because the year has ended doesn't mean everything in WWE starts out fresh. All the champions remain the same, Shane McMahon still has a vendetta against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, and Braun Strowman will continue to not be finished with his opponents. What are the five most pressing questions left unanswered by WWE in 2017 though? The ones that we cannot wait to find out the answers to as we head into 2018.

5. What Is Vince McMahon Up To?

via youtube.com

Not many things are a secret in pro wrestling these days, however, exactly what Vince McMahon is planning right now is a mystery. The chairman has started up a new company named Alpha Entertainment and is using money from WWE to help fund it. Apparently, it looks as if the company will have some sort of involvement in football, but beyond that what McMahon has planned remains pretty unclear. Some are speculating that he is planning on bringing back the XFL while there is also the rumor that he is planning to buy an NFL team, most likely the Carolina Panthers. Either avenue would be a fascinating one to watch unfold.

4. Is Brock Lesnar Going To Retire?

via wwe.com

There are very few people who know what Brock Lesnar's future holds. In fact, The Beast Incarnate himself might very well be the only one. When Lesnar appeared on The Stone Cold Podcast a while ago he revealed to Steve Austin that he knew exactly how the rest of his career was going to pan out. Well, whether you believe the reports that the Universal Champion's WWE contract comes to an end following WrestleMania 34 or much later in the year, the fact remains that it does in fact end at some point in 2018. When his current contract is up, Lesnar may very well wave goodbye to professional wrestling. Vince McMahon will do all he can to get him to stay though so watch this space.

3. Will Batista Return?

via rickey.org

A few years ago, Batista returned to WWE and it's probably fair to say that the reaction from the crowd wasn't exactly what The Beast was expecting. Batista was placed directly into a spot that fans had envisioned for Daniel Bryan and thus the WWE Universe turned against him from day one. It left a bad taste in the former World Champion's mouth and is not the kind of run any Superstar would want to end their in-ring career. Since then though, Batista's movie career has gone from strength to strength, but he recently revealed on The Ross Report that he would love to return to WWE. Not as a part-time performer either but as a full-time star. It would certainly be something and WWE would be fools to pass him up on the opportunity if it arises.

2. Who Will Win The 1st Women's Royal Rumble?

via youtube.com

We are currently just a few weeks away from the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match. Stephanie McMahon announced the landmark match a couple of weeks ago, and little by little, we're discovering who will be competing in the (presumably) 30 person over the top bout. While pretty much every woman on Raw and SmackDown Live - aside from the two champions - will probably be in the matchup, there can only be one winner. Who will it be though? The undefeated Asuka? The dominant Nia Jax? Maybe an upstart from NXT or a returning veteran. There are a lot of possibilities and what makes a great Royal Rumble match is not knowing who is going to win.

1. Has The Undertaker Retired?

via sbnation.com

This is by far the biggest question that fans want definitively answered in 2018. It has been one of the biggest questions for most of 2017, yet we still haven't been told one way or the other what the situation is. When The Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 and folded up his gear in the middle of the ring it seemed as if his career was over. Ever since though, there have been rumors that The Deadman may not be done quite yet. All we know right now as we head into 2018 is that Taker will be appearing at Raw's 25th anniversary. What he will be doing there is unknown, but it may be to begin an angle heading into WrestleMania 34.
