10 Matt Hardy vs Rey Mysterio (WrestleMania XIX)

We kickstart this list with an excellent match between Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio from WrestleMania XIX, where the two men competed in a Cruiserweight Championship match that proved it is easy to work a great match in limited time.

The two men wrestled in the opening match of the show and didn't even get 10 minutes, but they simply worked at break-neck speed from the first bell to the last and had everyone gripped.

While they weren't able to put on a WrestleMania classic that will go down in history, they certainly made the most of their situation with a very fun wrestling match.

9 Matt Hardy vs Mark Henry vs Finlay vs The Miz vs Chavo Guerrero (Unforgiven 2008)

The Championship Scramble concept was one that many people did actually enjoy despite its very short lifespan, with the idea being that the title could change hands countless times within one match and whoever had the title at the end left as champion.

Matt Hardy managed to be victorious from that situation, walking away with the ECW Championship in what was a very significant moment for him as a singles wrestler, finally becoming a World Champion.

While the ECW Championship was a top title, it wasn't always made to feel that way, but this match really worked, with a fast-paced 20-minute battle with Hardy taking a beating only to end up as the winner.

8 Matt Hardy vs Kevin Steen (Ring Of Honor Best In The World 2013)

That's right, Matt Hardy has gone one on one with Kevin Steen (better known now as Kevin Owens) in singles competition during his wrestling career, with the two men competing back in 2013.

Steen was one of the top wrestlers in the world at this point, putting on constant classics for Ring Of Honor, and Matt Hardy got in on the mix during his time with the company with the two men having a great feud.

They actually wrestled in a no disqualification match on this particular match and they pulled out all the stops, each man clearly wanting to prove themselves, although it was Hardy who came out on top.

7 Matt Hardy vs Evan Bourne (Cyber Sunday 2008)

During Matt Hardy's run as ECW Champion, he really proved how valuable he could be to the company by putting on a string of fantastic matches against whoever WWE decided to put him up against.

Hardy didn't just make his opponents look great, but he really helped raise the stock of the ECW Championship and the brand itself, with his title defense against Evan Bourne from Cyber Sunday being a great example of that.

Fans often didn't care about the ECW Championship matches on PPVs, yet, here the crowd was firmly invested and believed Bourne could get the win with some great near-falls in what was a very good match.

6 Matt Hardy vs AJ Styles (TNA Victory Road 2011)

Matt Hardy had a lot of his best moments as a wrestler working for TNA, with his runs with the company always creating some brilliant work both in-ring and in-terms of his character development.

With TNA Hardy got the chance to thrive as a singles performer, going toe to toe with some of the very best and proving that he belonged to be there with them.

His TNA Victory Road match against AJ Styles was proof of that, with the two men putting on a great match as Styles bumped around like crazy as the two men aimed to steal the show.

5 Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy (WrestleMania 25)

A lot of people like to overlook this match simply because the storyline surrounding it wasn't the greatest in WWE history, but that doesn't take away from the fact the two men went all out on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

While nobody bought the possibility of Matt Hardy trying to burn down his brother's house in the storyline, everyone bought into the match with both men utilizing the Extreme Rules stipulation to their advantage.

4 Matt Hardy vs Adam Cole (ROH Final Battle 2012: Doomsday)

This is another match that many WWE fans might not be overly familiar with, but it is certainly one that is well worth seeking out from Matt Hardy's run with Ring Of Honor in 2012.

Matt Hardy and Adam Cole had fantastic in-ring chemistry, and they put on a fantastic back and forth match in what was a dream bout for many fans, with Cole just starting to rise as one of wrestling's top single stars at this point.

In this match, Hardy was forced to really step-up and prove just how talented he was inside the ring as a wrestler, matching Cole hold for hold in a brilliant match.

3 Matt Hardy vs Ethan Carter III vs Drew Galloway (Bound For Glory 2015)

During the vast majority of Matt Hardy's TNA run, he was treated like a true main event star, which is where he belonged for the vast majority of his WWE career, as well, without ever getting the opportunity.

Few people would have thought that all three men would be in WWE in 2019, but here we are, with this triple threat match still being one of the best matches of all three men's careers.

Each man at this point had a point to prove and a chip on their shoulders, and it was clear to see, with brilliant in-ring chemistry, this turned into a very special triple threat.

2 Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy (Final Deletion)

If you're looking for a technical masterclass, this isn't the match for you, but, if you want to see something totally different than anything that has ever been seen in the wrestling business then, the Final Deletion match will provide that.

This wrestling match was a game-changer for Matt Hardy, giving fans a glimpse at the Broken Universe for the first time which breathed new life into him as an athlete, making him the hottest star in WWE at the time.

The match is complete and utter madness from start to finish, and, while some people hated it, there is no doubt that it got the world talking and remains one of the most important matches of Matt's career.

1 Matt Hardy vs Edge (Unforgiven 2005)

The feud between Matt Hardy and Edge is one of the very best of each man's career, mainly because of how real the entire situation was, with Edge and Lita having an affair behind Matt's back in real life.

Things quickly got out of control and WWE had a red hot feud on their hands and made the most of the situation, with this steel cage match being one of the real highlights among a red-hot crowd and two talents desperate to prove themselves.

Both men were starting to climb the ranks as singles wrestlers for the company, and this was the ideal time for this match, with the huge leg drop from the top of the cage providing an iconic moment nobody will ever forget.
