Mike And Maria Kanellis Announce Pregnancy

By now, we already know that The Miz and his wife, Maryse, are expecting their first child together. As it turns out, there’s another WWE couple who will be welcoming their first new addition to the family in a few months from now, and while their push may not be similar to the aforementioned power couple, they were featured heavily on WWE TV for a short period of time—it’s SmackDown Live’s Mike and Maria Kanellis.

Maria reported the good news on a WWE.com article posted Monday, saying that she had learned that she was pregnant while flying to a SmackDown Live house show. The self-proclaimed “First Lady of Wrestling” admitted that she knew “something was up” when she and her fellow blue brand workers got off the plane, and after taking a pregnancy test later that night, it was confirmed that she and her husband were going to become first-time parents.

According to Maria, it was extremely challenging to stay mum on her pregnancy and keep things a secret for the meantime.

“We wanted to wait to tell everybody, but let me just say, it was the most difficult day — having that information and going through a whole day with the entire SmackDown Live locker room and not being able to say anything about it,” she said.

The Power of Love is Strong.....And BABY makes 3. Mike and I are happy to announce I am 13 weeks pregnant!! Life is what happens when you are making other plans. This is the universe's plan for us. Last year Mike and I tried to expand our family when we had a lighter schedule and this year we thought we had put those plans on hold but apparently that is not what is meant to be and we are so happy for our new path. Mike has wanted children for a long time (he is gonna be a very good daddy) and my biological clock just recently started ticking!! Timing is everything and now is our perfect time for family. As far as the future... WWE is and has been my dream job and I plan on coming back with my doctor's approval after the baby is born and get's plenty of mommy time. But, until then, I will be posting my REAL updates on my social media accounts. There is so much pressure to have the perfect pregnancy, gain the right amount of weight, and be super stylish. But, let me just say I've gained 7 pounds, been nauseous everyday, and wore yoga pants every day since 6 weeks. I'm not perfect. Haha... life is messy. My husband is a recovering prescription drug addict, we are in the middle of buying a house, we are moving across county, and I'm pregnant!!! I figure I can either stress or feel blessed. I feel blessed. I choose happiness. WE choose happiness. Thank you to our families, friends, WWE, and the fans for all of the support! Let's continue building the #PowerofLove with my husband on Smackdown Live. Because the Power of Love is Real. I have the picture to prove it..... #MiraclesHappen #LifeHappens #thentherewerethree #alieninvasion @therealmichaelbennett @wwe Love, Maria and Mike and BABY 🍍+🐞=👽

As noted in the above Instagram post, Maria Kanellis is, as of this writing, 13 weeks pregnant, with a due date of April 2, 2017, and that means her baby should be due in time for WrestleMania 34. Should her husband Mike be booked for ‘Mania while she gives birth, he’ll have Maria’s full blessing to compete at the Show of Shows, but as Maria added, she’ll “definitely be Facetiming (him) with the baby afterward.”

Definitely, this is great news for Mike and Maria Kanellis, who have had a rather rough go of things since joining the SmackDown Live roster at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.  It didn't take long for WWE to seemingly sour on the couple's "Power of Love," allegedly due to Mike Kanellis' conditioning issues, and we haven't seen him on TV all month, with a series of losses in July and August placing him near the bottom of the blue brand's totem pole.

We don't know if Mike will make his way up the card and have a match at WrestleMania, just as Maria is hoping, but we'd like to congratulate the Bennetts (or should we say, the Kanellises) as they prepare to welcome their first child into the world.
