This week on SmackDown Live it was confirmed that the match between A.J. Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura atMoney In The Bank would be a Last Man Standing match. The news confirmed reports to that effect and has the WWE universe very excited for what many are assuming will be a show-stealing battle. But the announcement of said stipulation also had an effect on the NXT ppv happening the same weekend.

Money In The Bank will be taking place on Sunday June 17th in Chicago, Illinois and the night before, on Saturday the 16th, the NXT brand will put on their NXT TakeOver: Chicago show. Originally, the Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa match at TakeOver was going to be a Last Man Standing match

However, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with the announcement of that same stipulation for Styles v. Nakamura for the following night, Triple H and NXT creative had to change their plans. The report is that now the Gargano v. Ciampa match will get a street fight stipulation.

The Last Man Standing match stipulation requires that one wrestler be counted out to 10 by the referee while they are lying down - thus leaving the other wrestler the last one standing. There have been many Last Man Standing matches in the history of the WWE with the first one dating back to 1996 when The Undertaker defeated The Executioner at In Your House 12.

The last Last Man Standing match in the WWE took place just earlier this year. Braun Strowman took on Kane in an Last Man Standing Elimination Chamber qualifying match. The match took place on the January 29th, 2018 episode of Raw and it saw The Monster Among Men emerge victorious and secure his spot in the Elimination Chamber - where he would end up losing, being eliminated by Roman Reigns.

What will be the outcome of the MITB match between Styles and Nakamura? We will have to wait and see. But the more important concern for the WWE and the Superstars themselves is the heavy anticipation for the match and for how incredible everyone is expecting it to be.
