The Miz's famous promo on Talking Smack in 2016 is one that will not be quickly forgotten and he recently discussed the backstage reaction to it.

2018's Superstar Shakeup has now come and gone and it has made for some very interesting changes. While SmackDown Live seems to have gotten the better end of the deal what's for certain is we are about to see some never before seen matches and maybe even some dream bouts. AJ Styles versus Samoa Joe for the first time in WWE is one to look out for, as is Drew McIntyre going head to head with Roman Reigns.

All of the big time clashes that are now on the cards taken into account there is one that stands above all others. On Monday night The Miz was the first Superstar to be told that he would be making the move from Raw to SmackDown Live. General Manager Kurt Angle made it very clear who wanted him on Team Blue as well, Daniel Bryan. The former SmackDown Live GM has been waiting for two years to get his hands on The Miz.

The Awesome One is no stranger to Tuesday nights of course and his rivalry with Bryan began when he was initially drafted there during the summer of 2016. On an episode of Talking Smack Bryan told Miz that he wrestles like a coward which prompted the eight time Intercontinental Champion to cut a scathing promo. The rant from Miz was so good in fact that it was hard to distinguish whether it was real or not.

Even if it wasn't 100 percent real you can tell that Bryan legitimately touched a nerve and what The Miz was saying came from a real place. During an interview with Complex recently The A-Lister relived the night in question and gave some insight to what went on off camera. 'People backstage were packing their bags and leaving, and suddenly, everyone just stopped', Miz told Complex, and who can blame them? It was effectively one of their colleagues unexpectedly going off on one of their bosses.

Due to Bryan being retired at the time there could be no pay off to the great rivalry between the two of them, until now. It's incredible to think that on a list of Daniel Bryan dream matches that includes the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Johnny Gargano, The Miz is the one at the very top of it. It will undoubtedly be on a PPV sometime in the not so distant future while fans in attendance on a few dates of next month's UK tour will be able to get a sneak preview of it.
