The Miz didn’t fare too well against Baron Corbin on Sunday night and things didn’t really improve for him once he got backstage.

One of the champion versus champion matches at Survivor Series on Sunday night was The Miz versus Baron Corbin. Even though the two of them are on separate shows they managed to put together quite a good build for their match. The two title holders took to Twitter over the past few weeks and things got pretty heated.

After some of the things that were said it’s safe to say that by the time the match came around at Survivor Series, the pair of them couldn’t wait to get their hands on each other. Even Maryse, who has been used as ammo by Corbin, was at ring side watching on despite being absent from Raw since she discovered that she was pregnant. All of that meant it was an extremely bitter pill to swallow for Miz when he lost the match to The Lone Wolf.

The Awesome One isn’t the kind of wrestler who handles loss well and things went from bad to worse for him once he got back stage following his match. Miz was stopped by an interviewer in the corridor and before he could even get a word out the Intercontinental Champion flew off the handle. He had been trying to apologize to his wife for his performance and didn’t appreciate the interruption.

Then came the cherry on the cake. Mid-rant SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan walked past with a big grin on his face and that further pushed Miz over the edge. The two of them have a lot of history dating back to when The A-Lister was on SmackDown Live and used to torment Bryan at every possible opportunity. Bryan clearly took great pleasure in one of his own Superstars defeating Miz on Sunday night.

The rivalry between The Miz and Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live was something of a frustrating one for the fans and for the General Manager. With Bryan retired and WWE not backing down when it comes to letting him compete again, it was never going to end in the match that everyone wanted. Moving Miz to Raw brought it to an end though, and a brief call back to it for fans in the know was pretty entertaining at Survivor Series.
