Let's take a trip down memory lane and look back on the most memorable WWE moment for each year of the 2010s. For fun's sake, we added a runner-up for every year.

10 10. 2010: The Undertaker Retires Shawn Michaels

The Undertaker hits the Tombstone Piledriver on Shawn Michaels

One year after their epic showdown at WrestleMania XXV, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels agreed to go at it one more time at WrestleMania XXVI in Phoenix. This time, the Heartbreak Kid would be forced to retire if he lost.

The two legends put on dazzling performances in the rings, somehow finding a way to match the intensity and pace from their previous showdown. But when all was said and done, Undertaker put away the Showstopper to move his streak to 18-0.

Michaels announced his retirement on the following day's episode of Monday Night Raw. And so ended one of the most incredible and historic careers in the history of sports entertainment.

Runner-up: John Cena leads WWE past The Nexus at SummerSlam 2010.

9 9. 2011: Edge Announces His Retirement

Alberto Del Rio won the 2011 Royal Rumble, and he opted to challenge Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXVII. However, the Rated-R Superstar outlasted Del Rio and successfully defended his championship.

Just one week later, however, Edge made a shocking and emotional announcement: He had cervical spinal stenosis and thus had to retire immediately. Doctors had feared that if Edge continued to wrestle, he would put himself at risk of paralysis and death.

Edge would relinquish his World Heavyweight Championship and hang up the boots on his legendary career. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one year later.

Runner-up: The Rock returns, thus starting his feud with John Cena.

8 8. 2012: John Cena vs. The Rock

As noted above, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson came back to WWE in Feb. 2011, after it was announced that he would be the special host for WrestleMania XXVII. This led to a feud with John Cena, the company's main face at the time.

The two agreed to do a match at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami, which was billed up as a "Once in a Lifetime" showdown. The two WWE icons went toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring for 30 minutes.

Just when Cena was about to put The Rock away, the People's Champion got up and used his Rock Bottom finisher to put away WWE's top superstar. This led to a rematch at WrestleMania one year later, where Cena emerged victoriously.

Runner-up: Brock Lesnar returns to WWE on Apr. 2 edition of Raw.

7 7. 2013: Randy Orton Becomes First Unified Champion

John Cena carried the World Heavyweight Championship into the 2013 TLC pay-per-view, while Randy Orton held the WWE Championship. The two squared off in the main event - a table, ladders, and chairs match to determine the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion (both titles would be unified into one).

6 6. 2014: Brock Lesnar Ends The Streak

There were plenty of incredible and jaw-dropping moments for WWE in 2014. CM Punk's unexpected and abrupt departure certainly comes to mind, as does the failed 2014 Royal Rumble event, The Shield's breakup, and Sting's WWE debut.

But it's hard to argue that either of those moments was more memorable than the Brock Lesnar-Undertaker showdown at WrestleMania XXX. You know, where the former put away Undertaker to end his perfect WrestleMania streak at 21-1?

5 5. 2015: Seth Rollins Cashes In

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar squared off in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the latter's WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The two superstars put on a remarkable performance in the ring, but it was about to get even better.

Seth Rollins showed up unexpectedly to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. He quickly made easy work of Reigns to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, which began his rise to main event status.

4 4. 2016: WWE Goes Back To The Brand Split

Shane McMahon returned to WWE in 2016, and as part of the storyline, engaged in a feud with sister Stephanie to determine who would hold control of Monday Night Raw.

Ultimately, Vince McMahon decided to go back to the brand split - and SmackDown Live was moved to Tuesday nights. Stephanie was named commissioner of Raw, with Mick Foley taking over as GM. Meanwhile, Shane would run SmackDown Live, with Daniel Bryan holding down the GM role.

3 3. 2017: The Shield's Reunion

Roman Reigns' push as "the guy" in WWE still wasn't working at this point, while Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were practically stuck in no man's land. So WWE rolled with the inevitable and decided to have the trio reform The Shield.

After weeks and weeks of teasing a reunion, the trio finally reformed the beloved stable at No Mercy. This led to a showdown against The Miz, The Bar, Kane and Braun Strowman at the 2017 TLC pay-per-view, though Kurt Angle had to replace Reigns in the match (he was dealing with an illness).

The reunion was unfortunately short-lived, as Ambrose suffered a torn triceps in December which forced him to miss eight months of action.

Runner-up: John Cena Ties Ric Flair's Record of 16 World Championships At Royal Rumble.

2 2. 2018: Daniel Bryan Comes Out Of Retirement

Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from professional wrestling in 2016, having dealt with serious head injuries. However, Bryan decided that he wanted to make a comeback, and he embarked on a lengthy journey to get cleared for a return.

Sure enough, Bryan accomplished his mission and received the green light to wrestle again. He made the historic and emotional announcement on the March 20 episode of SmackDown Live - and he returned to the ring and helped Shane McMahon defeat Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a tag team match at WrestleMania 34.

Runner-up: Asuka wins the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble

1 1. 2019: History Is Made At WrestleMania 35

Becky Lynch won the women's Royal Rumble, and WWE decided to pit her against both SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair and Raw Women's Champions Ronda Rousey in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 35. The winner would come away with both championships.

This also marked the first-ever women's main event in WrestleMania history. Lynch, Rousey, and Flair all put on remarkable performances in the ring, displaying tremendous pace and execution.

Better yet, WWE actually gave fans what they wanted in the main event, as Lynch pinned Rousey to become a duo champion. History was made that night in New Jersey, and we won't forget it any time soon.

Runner-up: Kofi Kingston defeats Daniel Bryan At WrestleMania for his first WWE Championship.
