The WWE is reportedly considering a return to the New York City area for WrestleMania 34 in 2018, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
Meltzer confirmed that the company has discussed returning to MetLife Stadium for the event, but it's far from definite. The New York area has already hosted five WrestleManias before, with the latest coming in the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. That of course was the site of the 'twice in a lifetime' match between The Rock and John Cena.
One obstacle for 'Mania returning to MetLife would be that New York has become the semi-permanent home for SummerSlam. The WWE has already announced the Barclays Center in Brooklyn would be hosting SummerSlam in 2016 and 2017. They'd likely want to spread the wealth around.
Other cities in the running are Philadelphia, who placed bids for 32 and 33, and Minneapolis, who will have their new stadium - U.S. Bank Stadium - ready very soon.
