The WWE has announced that Rick Rude will be the next inductee into this year's Hall of Fame class. Ricky Steamboat broke the news in an exclusive interview with Bleacher Report, announcing he would be the one inducting The Ravishing One.
Steamboat heaped praise on his former in-ring rival when announcing he'd be inducting him.
"If you looked at all the boxes you would check to make a main event guy that would go down in history as one of the best, Rude checked all the boxes," Steamboat told Bleacher Report. "He was an all-around package. He looked good, he could play the part, he knew what to do. He could take great bumps, feed the babyface when it was time to feed, and he would never run out of gas."
Rude passed away in 1999 at the age of 40 and has long been seen as someone who is long overdue for an induction.
Rude now joins Kurt Angle, Beth Phoenix, The Rock 'n' Roll Express, Theodore Long and Diamond Dallas Page on this year's list of inductees.
