It's rare for smaller promotions to get access to celebrities and famous musicians to appear at the shows. But being a part of the WWE family has its perks, which includes being able to lure household names to show up or lend their art forms to the black and gold brand.

While the current format of NXT has only been around since 2012, there have been several high-profile celebrities, musicians, and bands who have had a hand in contributing to the success of the brand. Not all of them may have appeared at a TakeOver event, but they've made their presence felt one way or another.

10 The Rock

Now that his daughter is training at the WWE Performance Center, The Rock might stop by more frequently. After watching Simone Johnson train and perform, The Great One shared some wisdom and advice with the next generation of WWE superstars.

He then spent some time in the ring with several performers and showed them how to electrify an audience. While there have been several visits from WWE legends since the Performance Center was constructed, The Rock would be considered one of the most famous guests to stop by.

9 Lemmy

It's no secret that Triple H is a massive Motorhead fan. The Game was even fortunate enough to share a friendship with the lead singer, Lemmy before he sadly passed away in 2015.

Despite having two theme songs created specifically for Helmsley, Triple H requested to use Motorhead's famous track "Ace Of Spades" as the theme for NXT: TakeOver London. The classic song paired perfectly with the event that was highlighted by Finn Balor's demon outfit resembling Jack The Ripper.

8 Billie Eilish

The majority of NXT theme songs for TakeOver events have come from hard rock and heavy metal bands, but for the New York event, the black and gold brand changed it up by using a Billie Eilish track. The song "you should see me in a crown" was featured every week on NXT until the event, which was also around the time her album When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? released.

The music helped NXT get some extra attention due to Eilish's popularity, and it likely helped her get some additional streams on Spotify from WWE fans.

7 Lee England Jr.

Fans might recognize Lee England Jr. from Making His Band, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Mo'Nique Show for his violin talents and expressive performances. They might also remember him for his live performance at TakeOver: Brooklyn II, where he accompanied Shinsuke Nakamura to the ring.

England Jr. wasn't there to watch the back of the King Of Strong Style. He would play Nakamura's iconic theme song as they both danced to the ring to meet an angry Samoa Joe. The performance must have helped as Nakamura would end up walking out with the NXT Championship.

6 Lzzy Hale

NXT has been a pioneer for the women's evolution for years and when they needed a strong female vocalist for a live performance, they didn't need to look any further than Lzzy Hale. The lead singer of Halestorm would team up with Cane Hill to perform Ember Moon's theme song at TakeOver: New Orleans.

The performance got such an amazing ovation from fans that Hale would return later in the year at the Evolution PPV to perform with guitarist Nita Strauss.

5 Josiah Williams

Josiah Williams rose to fame with his YouTube series Wrestle and Flow, which saw him remix WWE theme songs and overlay them with his own original lyrics. The creativity got the attention of WWE, and they brought him on board as an on-air host.

The new role also allowed him the opportunity to perform live at TakeOver XXV. Williams would accompany Adam Cole to the ring for his title defense against Johnny Gargano by busting a rhyme to the Undisputed Era theme song.

4 Corey Taylor

Fans will recognize Corey Taylor's voice from the opening theme of NXT every week, but the Slipknot lead singer has been involved with the black and gold brand for years. At the NXT Aftershock Festival, Baron Corbin would get in the face of Taylor and push him around.

Fans in attendance knew that Taylor would retaliate, and after taking a deep breath, he slapped the taste out of Corbin's mouth. His opponent, Samoa Joe, then proceeded to pick up where Taylor left off.

3 Jami Morgan

Jami Morgan of Code Orange has a long history with the black and gold band. They were the first group to perform live at an NXT event when they did so at TakeOver: Brooklyn III. Immediately after playing the theme song of the PPV, they continued the show by performing Aleister Black's entrance music.

The success of this show is what likely led to other bands performing at TakeOver events. The group enjoyed themselves so much they even returned for an encore at TakeOver: In Your House earlier this year.

2 Wale

Wale has made no secret that he's a big WWE fan. The rapper has even hosted events during WrestleMania weekends. The company has welcomed him with open arms by having him moderate a rap battle on SmackDown between The Usos and New Day and provide commentary on 205 Live.

But his most prominent moment came on an episode of NXT where he helped welcome The Street Profits to the ring. It was the second episode on the USA Network, and between the three of them, they brought the smoke.

1 Poppy

Poppy made her NXT debut by playing Io Shirai to the ring with her song "Scary Mask." Shirai and Poppy thrashed in the ring while strobe lights flared throughout the arena. The unique performance was so memorable that the singer would be invited back to NXT to perform at TakeOver: Portland, but this time with two songs.

Poppy would get the fans out of their seats once she hit the stage, and they didn't sit back down until after the PPV event had ended.
