The hottest Wrestling Brand in town has taken its circus act on the road from Florida to Dallas as the stars of NXT were out to shine in the Lone Star State Friday night. Like a highly anticipated Texas high school football game, wrestling fans were ready to catch a glimpse into the future at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.

With WrestleMania on the horizon, the guys and girls of tomorrow - who dream of one day performing on the Grandest Stage of Them All - look to make a name for themselves just two days prior to the Big Event. Who will stand out and who will fizzle? While the main roster remains a pipe-dream for many, the time to prove something in now.

This is how the show in Dallas went down:

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

American Alpha vs. The Revival (NXT Tag Team Championship)

If only the WWE tag team division could look like this. In what was reminiscent of an old-school tag team bout laced with new-school techniques, American Alpha and The Revival opened the show strong. (Even though The Revival botched a finish.)

There was a certain sense to this match; a undeniable sense that the NXT Tag Team Championship was set to change hands; and that's exactly what happened as Chad Gable and Jason Jordan would finally emerge as the top tag team in NXT.

Match Winners: American Alpha (NEW NXT Tag Team Champions)

Match Rating: 7/10

Baron Corbin vs. Austin Aries

Austin Aries has finally arrived; not in WWE but close enough. In Dallas, Aries would take on Baron Corbin in his NXT debut match. Fans of Aries had been waiting a long time for this moment and were salivating at Aries' entrance.

Baron Corbin still looks a little green as The Lone Wolf would take control of this match early. Eventually, Austin Aries was able to display some of his skill-set, but not much. The end result would see Aries roll-up Corbin for the victory.

Match Winner: Austin Aries

Match Rating: 4/10

Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Prior to these two locking-up, the Goosebumps would arrive. Shinsuke Nakamura brought his eccentric style to NXT and for that, fans are grateful. Of course, the lifeblood of NXT, Sami Zayn was on his game at TakeOver.

The desensitization of Sports Entertainment can often cause one to forget how much sensory pleasure one can attain from a good Wrestling match; which this was. Much to the delight of many, Shinsuke Nakamura would prove victorious in his NXT debut.

Match Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Match Rating: 8.5/10

Asuka vs. Bayley (NXT Women's Championship)

Ever since the epic encounters with Sasha Banks, every Bayley match has not quite lived up the mark. However, Asuka would come into this match booked as a formidable opponent to the reigning NXT Women's Champion. Did this bout live up to the hype?

Close enough. While this was clearly not Sasha/Bayley in Brooklyn, the match was solid. The live crowd really put it over; especially while once again serenading with their rendition of "Hey Bayley." The match would end with Bayley passing out the Asuka Lock.

Match Winner: Asuka (NEW NXT Women's Champion)

Match Rating: 6/10

Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor (NXT Championship)

Finn Balor is the Demon of Dallas as the current NXT Champion looked to retain his title against the hard-hitting powerhouse, Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe is busted open in the early stages of this match as the intensity level was immediately turned up to maximum. The independent wrestling scene has been brought to a WWE controlled Network.

The medical staff continuously attempts to clean up Samoa Joe; who is not having any of that nonsense. However, Joe eventually obliges. The crowd is wild and the action proves what NXT is all about.

The back-and-forth bout would maintain suspense as to who would come out on top. This frantic feeling would leave everyone in suspense before Finn Balor would score the pinfall on Samoa Joe to retain the NXT Championship.

Match Winner: Finn Balor

Match Rating: 8/10
