On her Instagram story, Paige announced that she was attacked and insulted by a male fan outside of Allstate Arena following last night's Money in the Bank interview in Rosemont, Illinois.

Paige's story read the following:

"To the 'fan' that decided to pie face me through my car window and then tell me to "lose some weight Paige".. you inspired me to keep being myself and eat whatever the f I want. Good luck with your karma!"

A reader told Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that she was the passenger in a vehicle and had her window down to high-five and engage with her fans. That's when the culprit stepped in and pie faced her. The reader also said the fan was confronted - though not by the SmackDown Live GM herself.

Unfortunately, this is far from the first time in recent years where WWE superstars have been attacked by fans. During a December episode of 205 Live, a fan threw a water bottle at Kalisto's face while he was on the ground. Security officials caught the perpetrator soon afterward, and Kalisto required stitches inside his mouth.

There have also been a handful of incidents where fans have ran into the ring to attack superstars from behind. This happened to Randy Orton during a 2013 house show in South Africa, and the "fan" was arrested and pled guilty to charges. He was banned from attending WWE's next show in South Africa.

Paige has had a rough 2018 already, having to retire from in-ring competition after suffering another scary neck injury in December. The person who attacked Paige has no business being around any future WWE shows, and we can only hope that police are able to locate him.

The silver lining is that Paige wasn't shaken by the attack and only got motivated from it, judging by her Instagram story. Let her remind you that sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt.
