Paige Comes Clean About Wellness Policy Violation

Paige recently opened up about her wellness policy violations admitting that the second of the two was in fact due to her taking 'illegal drugs'.

Before her triumphant return a few weeks ago on Raw, Paige had been absent from WWE television for well over a year. The two-time Divas Champion underwent serious neck surgery and before that violated the company's wellness policy which earned her two separate suspensions, the first for 30 days and and the second for 60 days.

When Paige was suspended for the second time the British Superstar took to Twitter to defend herself. She wrote 'Same sh** different day. Kids..Please don’t get prescriptions or doctor’s notes. Not acceptable'. Shortly after that tweet WWE responded by telling The New York Post that Paige had in fact tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug, and that they were supplying her with world class medical care when it came to her neck injury.

All in all it must have been pretty embarrassing for Paige, something she confirmed recently when she was a guest on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia. Lilian read back the above tweet to Paige and she admitted that the only reason she lied was because she didn't know what else to do. She even revealed that her family also didn't know the truth which is why they sprung to her defense claiming that she had only been taking prescription drugs to help her recover from her surgery.

This admission from Paige was not all the Absolution leader discussed in the tell all podcast with Garcia. The Norwich native poured her heart out about the last year and a half of her life revealing that she had suffered from anorexia and also contemplated committing suicide shortly after the release of her private photos and videos.

Thankfully the return of Paige to Raw signals a happy ending to what has been an awful period in her life. The first ever NXT Women's Champion seems to be in a great place right now and spoke very highly of everyone back stage at WWE, referring to them as family. Stephanie McMahon in particular helped Paige get the confidence she needed to step back out in front of the WWE Universe. It's a breath of fresh air to hear that WWE welcomed someone like Paige back with open arms after the things she said about the company during a dark period in her life.
